Yeah, he shouldnt, but if you choose to, staff may be forced to post details of your case publicaly. So actually ban discussion is not forbitten on forum (according to forum guidelines). Thats also intresting why all ban topics are graveyarded or locked on forum as soon as forum admin sees it, even if forum guidelines allow them.

Also my topic about forum guideliines and point about ban discussion on forum was completly ignored.
it seems there is general attitude towards punishing SK players instead aiming towards clarification of rules to PREVENT bannable/prohibited offences before they happen, becouse ban policy is albo not very clear, example:

In report menu there is a report reason: annoying, but there it says if someone is annoying ignore him, cant report. But then there is spam report reason and its description is: spam is annoying and its not allowed, so wait... spam is not allowed becouse its annoying? But you cant report ppl for being annoying, annoying ppl get ignored. Or maybe spam is not allowed becouse its not allowed? Very clear indeed. Also same spam definition is not clear and be misinterpreted, it says its posting same thing over and over again, what does it mean? Is over and over again starting at 2 things one after another? Maybe 3 or it starts at 4?

The point is that rules are not clear, forum guidelines are too, ban reasons too, and noone is trying to make thhem clear OR even when asked for clarification admins remain silent. If someone from support would make ban policy more clear we could avoid bans and ppl breaking rules becouse they would know they should not do it.

By the way, this is what it says about spam:

Spamming — If someone is spamming they are repeating text or sending long lines of nonsense with the sole purpose filling up the chat screen of others. Only complain about this behavior if it is more than a couple lines of chat. In the case of only a couple lines of chat, you should consider ignoring them.

It doesn't mention anything about whether the behavior is annoying.

They haven't paid me to support them, but they do pay me for my artwork on whirled. That's about it. The funny thing is I've talked with their CEO before, some of their main artists, their marketing reps, their moderators, and I always liked how casual they were and how much they communicated with the player base. It's harder to notice and see on Spiral Knights, but if you were on whirled there was once a point where you could talk to most of their staff and representatives. I think this is a -good- thing, for an MMO they have been rather open in their lines of communication.

I also don't know how what I said was "fanboy." I explained the reporting system which I found off a simple wiki search that explains everything. The name-change you had as well was explained as being an inappropriate word. I'm sorry but being in support of a game's rules doesn't make one a "fanboy." If you've seen me on other sites I behave the same way, so it's not my biased towards OOO (even though I do like and support the company).

That's what I thought as well when I first saw the thread title. I thought they were named "Blackie" and had it changed to "Blaqqie" which I could see as plausibly getting a name-change as well. I never said this outright because some people would probably argue political correctness and all that.

Because that's just common sense. Almost everywhere you spam you get reprimanded for it. It's common netiquette not to spam, and I don't think they need to explain anything beyond telling you "don't do it."

I also think there's a little gap you aren't getting. Spamming is bannable and it is annoying. Being annoying itself is not bannable unless it's part of a bannable offense. Because A=B and B=C does not mean that A=C. Spamming and being annoying have something in common but they aren't exactly the same, and you would report someone for spamming players before you'd report someone for being annoying.

If i follow you, what you are suggesting is to actually have the offending spam shown to you on the ban screen. For instance

"you are banned for spamming on 02/28/2012: the offending text is : aoihdfaoiwirirjh[gar[irtgjao[orjgojgoirtgpoiwajfa " posted 12 times in a span of 5 minutes."

Am i hearing you correctly? i would agree with this completely.

Someone that goes out of their way to defend people they do not even know tells me they have ulterior motives.
If it isn't payment then it would mean you actually love this company. In that case accept my apologies, I probably won't be able to understand why.

About Yussy, I'm still talking it out with them. The only thing I do not like is that they see people as guilty before proven. It should be the other way around.
Namechanging is bad but getting banned without knowing why is probably even worse. If you invested time in this game and it happened to you, you would understand better.

About Blaqqie, you probably mean the QQ. I wanted Black or Blackie but they were both taken, it's not meant as a trollname. Perhaps a mod could change it, this time I wouldn't mind :)
