I have fought Vana many times but this is a first...when the group stepped on the group button, the gates fell and I spawned on the fire, which killed me while Vana conversed with us. Not only that, but Vana's conversation with me was bellow the screen so the group had to go without me for the fight. See screenshot below.

Ever tried to press esc? it cancels the dialogue.

@Juances I did not know that.
@Juances I did not know that. I only noticed they took away the convenient little "X" you used to be able to hit in such situations. That'll be nice to know when I accidentally start chatting with mother sprite while swinging away at a zombie too.

Yeah, if you lag at the wrong second when walking onto the party button you'll end up in the shadow fire. It used to be that you could quickly exit out of the dialogue and rescue yourself, but now you can't even do that.
I really think the gates should stay up for a second after the party button is pressed to prevent goofs like that.
