Which one of these two swords would you prefer? Tell me which one and why. I have a choice between the two, and I want you guys to decide on which one I should get. Thanks :D!
Sudaruska or Triglav
both are really just for looks, the damage is weaker compared to other 5* swords, and they're the slowest in the game. If you actually plan on using it, go Sudaruska since stun won't mess with the knockback (Triglav's freeze will cancel knockback, and the monster can still attack frozen)
To feel like you hit things like a truck, get a sudaruska then have ancient plate / some other plate armor.
Tip: Turn off damage numbers.
I'm a slow-and-steady soloer most of the time, and have primarily used the Troika line, just because it suits my playstyle. I could care less about max dps or any of that, since I rarely group unless doing a boss (when I then switch to a faster sword).
I agree that Sudaruska is a better choice, since it;s special effect doesn't negate the knockback which is one of the nice features of using the Troika line swords against a group (constant pushback with aoe swings).
Hey, id like to piggyback a question on this thread. I'm a troika line user saving up for my Sudaruska. My question regards the use of the "elite quick strike module" and its affect on Troika line users gameplay? What Is the effect that is has on the sudaruska swing speed and is it worth the amount of time I am going to be spending saving up on it? Also would having two of the quick strikes doubly effect the speed? Does anybody know from experience?
I was talking to my swordie friend a while back. He owns a troika of the suda line because the triglav line is way harder to acquire, and he was commenting on how he would have preferred the triglav line. Since the troika line swords have long range, triglav could still freeze enemies in place from a longer range, where they cannot hit you with their melee attacks. I'm really not sure about this, because I'm a gunner/bomber hybrid and I haven't touched my troika since a long time ago.
Asi decreases recovery from the swing, which is not affected by asi. The time between swings in a combo is also decreased.
Asi is a great stat for heavy sword users, since lower recover times means being able to shield faster.
Yep, the ASI is worth it. More than having a noticeable effect (it IS noticeable, but that's not the important thing) a bit of ASI from med + will give you an easier time with the troika line canceling enemy attacks and getting both strikes in before being hit. This is makes fighting jellies and gremlins in particular more forgiving when using a heavy sword. Both of those enemies' attack timing based on how close they will be to you before they attack, and how near you need to be to hit them works out with heavy swords that it can be challenging without LOTS of practice to get both hits in reliably. A little ASI makes a big difference with being able to repeatedly get that second hit in and cancel their attack.
It will also make a big difference for shield canceling and shielding in general, as Demonic pointed out.
As a user of both the Suda and the Triglav (I find them useful for different situations, even with how rarely the Triglav freezes anything) I'd say the Suda is more overall useful, the Triglav sure looks cool, though.
Just remember with a heavy sword that it's not about DPS, it's about being able to maneuver enemies where you want them, and grouping them up with the knockback, etc. If you're good at using shield bumping and sword pushes to group enemies up, the troika line can (sort of) make up for its low DPS.
If you plan on using the troika line as a main weapon, do consider other weapons that it can be effectively paired with (such as a freeze bomb, vortex bomb to immobilize targets, handguns/ fast swords for faster attacks when you need them, etc)
Personally I think the whole point of heavy weapons is their knockback. If the Triglav was to freeze the enemy as you strike them and they prepare an attack at that moment... You're probably gonna get smacked.
And ASI is ever useful on every heavy sword.
EDIT 1: There are the 6 ranks of Special stats- low, med, high, Vhigh, Ultra, Max. If you got 2 elite quickstrikes, you'll get a vhigh asi, which may or may *not* be double. However as I mentioned above- even a mere asi low can help, however little.
Why does the charge on Sudaruska not stun? It should totally stun. Anyway, I like Suda better, looks cooler than the ice one!
The stun for Sudaruska is almost non-existant. I'd played almost exclusively with the Sudaruska for months and VERY rarely ever got the stun proc. My brother who used the Triglav was often freezing people both with the charge and the normal attacks. It seemed to me that the chance to stun is equal to or lower than the Faust's chance to curse.
That was around the time they first came out with the two weapons, they may have been changed since.

well for one, most people would tell you that even attempting to get either one of them or thinking of getting a troika is a bad idea.i,on the other hand,am not one of those people.sure, the swords may be really slow (swiftstrike buckler only helps a little bit) and may have horrible dps (i pay no attention to the dps) but they do have a wide swing and huge knockback.really, the choice is up to your preference:Stun,or freeze?stun would probably be more useful, since freeze cancels knockback, but hey,if youre a freeze kinda guy, then youll probably want the triglav.thats what im going for. hope this helps. :D
