I've almost completed my Ash Tail set and am faced with a tough desicion. I dont know if I should use over 3000 energy to try to get Snarbolax armor, or use over 50,000 crowns for Vog Cub armour.

Which should I get, I could care less about looks, I'm more concerned about how they would do in Lockdown and FSC runs mostly. Please tell me which one I should get.

Skolver...?

Vog is not the best (though still usable) in Lockdown because it lacks piercing defense, and the majority of T3 lockdown uses Flourishes or Barb Thorn Blades, all piercing damage. For lockdown, the generic one to use is Skolver (piercing defense, sword damage bonus). Vog is great for FSC since it has fire and elemental defense, both common in FSC. Snarby is very pricey, and somewhat works for both FSC and LD (shadow def, however no fire, and damage bonus for LD, but no pierce def, good against Gran Faust...)

If you do a lot of FSC, go Vog
If you do a lot of Lockdown, get Skolver (also, it is usable in FSC, just need skill to avoid fire)
Snarby: IMO, get it after you get Vog/ Skolver first...

(Also consider your weapon speed and the bonuses the armors give)

Vog has Normal, Elemental,

Vog has Normal, Elemental, And Fire protection (and ASI)

Snarbolax has Normal, Shadow, Poison, and Freeze (and DMG).

Neither is really great for LD, because neither have piercing, and neither have immunity to any common status bombs (full skolver has freeze immunity). If I had to choose one for LD, I'd choose Snarbolax because more people do carry gran faust than elemental swords and with a freeze resistant trinket you can have shivermist buster immunity, so Snarbolax has a slight edge.

For FSC, Vog is probably better. Fire traps and the fire orbs at vana do more damage (in my opinion) than zombie swipes. I'm currently running FSC with vog + skolver and it is very doable. The set I'm ultimately going to run in vana is going to be Vog Cub Cap + Snarbolax Coat with UV Fire High.

Also, Snarbolax means you have to do the shadow lairs, which unless you know people to carry you through the shadow lair (or if you are extremely good) you'll probably blow a lot of CE on revives without proper 5* gear. This is just a warning, before you head into the shadow lairs just to die too many times and not be able to build snarbolax because you are out of CE.

@Nordlead : some corrections

@Nordlead : some corrections :
- full skolver is not freeze immune. It's shivermist immune. You can still be frozen by a Hail Driver. A Skolver + Snarbolax set is also shivermist immune. That lets you have more mixed defense.
- Shadow Lair is not THAT hard anymore (since the huge nerf of zombies and wolvers). You can do it with a person not being full 5* without being ultra good (just a little experienced will do). Although I recommend to have at least a piercing and elemental 5* weapons to be effective.

Shadow Lairs are still pretty

Shadow Lairs are still pretty hard, at least on your first try. My group had to blow a few CE res's on IMF and RIP, and I think one on GW. We weren't exactly properly geared, but it is pretty difficult.

@fradow - that is what I

@fradow - that is what I meant with the freeze immunity, so thanks for clarifying.

As for the difficulty of shadow lairs, from what I understand it is still harder than FSC. If that is the case, most 4* players have a hard time with FSC unless they are really good. I'm not saying it is impossible, just hard. I haven't played the shadow lairs yet, but hopefully in 2 saturdays. I just wanted to make sure there was a warning there.
