Perfect Mask of Seerus http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/523780343922964557/75706689AA65221E7EF...

Dark Retribution is a Shadow bomb with similar stats to DBB; not sure if it's exactly the same type of bomb.

The rocket hammer is a Pure Elemental melee weapon with stats similar to a DA; not sure how it swings.

Dark retribution has orbs

Dark retribution has orbs that spin along a constant circumference of the explosion area.
The 5* one has two 2 layers of these rings. The 1* one has 1 layer. I haven't seen the 3* version.

The Rocket Hammer appears to have the similar movements at all levels, but the distances may very. I haven't tested this yet.
It appears to be a 2-swing sword, however it's really a 3-swing.
The first swing appears to have the same range as a SS/troikia. Upon hit, an explosion occurs right infront of you for the same amount of damage. (So it can hit twice.)
The second swing will dash you forward about 4-5 squares. The dash will hit, similar to zombie jumps.
The third swing will execute a swing similar to the 2nd swing of a SS/Troika.
The nice thing about detaching the dash from the 3rd swing is that you can aim and you're not swinging blindly.
The charge has two smashes similar to the troika line, however it appears to executes this faster. The knight will dash forward about 2 squares for the 2nd smash.
I am not sure which is more viable, a good CTR or a good ASI. I'm personally leaning on ASI.

My guess is that these two weapons are meant to spice things up in lockdown, especially against purely piercing skolvers.
The shadow bomb will be great for defending points.
The elemental rocket hammer will allow you to attack from afar, even if you're not a striker. For instance, you can swing at someone, dash behind them, and hit them from behind.

I can definitely feel the meta game of lockdown changing up from these two weapons.

For mask is awful. Why couldn't they put med gun damage on that damned thing. It's not like it's a set. I gun a lot, and I would hardly go out of to get this.

Damage on 5* Hammer UNHEATED

Just got:

First Hit - Second Hit:
250 - 299

Each Charge Attack:
413

Dash Damage:
175

On d27 zombies in FSC with no damage mod. With 7.5% increase assumed per damage increase, we get at MAX:

First Hit - Second Hit:
~360 - 430

Each Charge Attack:
~600

Dash Damage:
~250

If the combo is execute-able on a Vortex cluster, that would deal ~1880 assuming that you can pull off the second swing in a hit chain like you can a Brandish. Brandish line does ~600+350+400+200+200 = ~1750 damage to front line enemies.

The Hammer has the potential, at first glance, to perhaps be better against Elemental weak monsters. Though the dash forward might cause problems, the large AoE of the hits may be a significant benefit, though charge time may be a problem as well.

To be honest it seems like if it does more, it won't do much more, and won't be worth the effort. Will have to test for certainty however since this is unheated.

.

The type-based damage bonus is weird. At the damage amounts you're listing for the first and second hit, half-normal damage provides a larger bonus against elemental-weak monsters than pure-elemental, as far as we can figure out. So if that weapon performs similarly to an elemental brandish against constructs and undead, you can expect it to perform better than an elemental brandish against slimes and fiends (though definitely worse against beasts and gremlins).

The playstyle of the hammer

The playstyle of the hammer is rather different. It could be used the same way as a DA, but the possibilities are... more varied.

I find the second hit of the

I find the second hit of the hammer to be too unwieldy to use against enemies that are not pinned, or far away from you. I think it's better to shield cancel the first hit repeatedly until the enemy dies, and then use the second hit to propel yourself to the next batch of foes. Also the charge attack leaves you really vulnerable, I'd argue even more so than AP/Sent

It can be used just as the

It can be used just as the Divine Avenger if you can shield cancel the first attack, replacing the dash with another beginning slash and ending the combo with the last hit.

Basically if you did that, it would look like this,

First Hit! --> Shield Cancel --> First Hit! --> Third Hit!

Awful?! First gunner gear with fire AND shock resistance. CTR is great for autoguns and alchemers, which are both very popular handguns categories. Not to mention catalyzers. And it still has this ASI low that makes it suitable to mix-and-match with Nameless and Justifier.

Actually it's the best gunner helm there is so far.

@ Merethif I was thinking

@ Merethif

I was thinking more in terms of lockdown purposes.

I guess for PvE, a PMS (lol, Perfect Mask of Seerus), Nameless Poncho & swiftstrike shield will yeild you max ASI, med ctr. You can have two gun damage trinkets for vh gun damage. So it's really not THAT bad.

HOWEVER. You can get CTR UV's or ASI UV's, so if you were lucky or loaded, the above set up would become redundant at some point. There is no option to get max gun damage (general gun damage, not family specific) and a bit of something else (asi or ctr) like you can with a sword.
