I played earlier today, but the game crashed anytime I tried to purchase the expansion. I'm guessing that's steams problem. Then the server rebooted and I needed to patch...i get this message: http://i39.tinypic.com/2daaoav.jpg

Would be the day I get all my gear to 5 stars. 4 Days & 50 bucks wasted :\

Figured out a way to fix the downloads, had to use two computers--one virgin PC, without Spiral Knights installed to do so. Still cant play, server down I guess.

I just contacted my friends

I just contacted my friends on Steam and they are online, yet when I try to login in it says the server is down.

Is this because I purchased the DLC?

Jesus. What is the point of the forums when you don't get a response anyway.

how about you uninstall and

how about you uninstall and reinstall as they say?
The point of these forums is for other users to help each other not for the staff to help you.

I'm getting this same issue

I'm getting this same issue and it won't let me do what it suggests. Keeps saying SK is running so it can't be uninstalled, despite it in no way being open. :/

I suppose the good news is that there's multiple threads cropping up about this very issue, so it's not like the staff can really ignore that they broke something. Hopefully they'll get around to fixing it sooner rather than later.

@Trying:

How about reading my posts before commenting? Post #2 states I didn't just try uninstalling, I brought in another computer entirely to try a fresh install that could rule out registry error. As for this forum, the tech forum, lolololol, being for users to answer your questions: go read they sticky posted by the admins, under bullet 7.

@Incoherrant:

After several reboot & registry sweeps & forced deletes... It just magically started working perfectly, I wish I knew what combination of things I did to make it happen, but I don't. Was a lot of trial and error.

Or you could've restarted your computer...
Had the same patching issue and tried a reinstall multiple times. Finally tried restarting and bam, it works.

@Requinn: Restarting didn't

@Requinn:

Restarting didn't work for me, sadly. It took multiple cases of restarting, deleting, re-installing, restarting. I can say that it worked fine on the PC i had never played SK on before. I think the registry sweep is what solved the problems for me, but I cant be sure, I wasn't documenting everything I tried.

I had the same problem as you

I had the same problem as you did. It seems as though the people who purchased the expansion package had trouble downloading it. As for me, I waited it out (about 15 mins later I came back to SK), and the patch started downloading. Not sure if the problem is with the SteamSK servers overloading with download requests, or the copies of SK are failing.
