I have an odd issue. I am playing with full bars(three). Then all of a sudden it goes to one red bar and my character starts moving on its own. If I try to fire a gun the bullet moves like it was in the matrix. Sometimes it does this for five or six minutes before it eventually kicks me to the log in screen. Then it is a 50/50 if I can log in and return to where I was previously. Though at that point I have lost ten minutes of game time. So either I am returning dead, or my party has moved WAY forward. Or they kick me because they come to a point where everyone needs to stand on the button, or go down the elevator.

When this happens everything else that uses internet goes nuts. Either saying I have no bandwidth or it just is disconnected. So this leads me to believe that something in your game is taking up so much bandwidth that it raises the ping to such a point that I get the odd movement error and lag on projectiles. Then it makes it bad enough for force a log out.

I would like to know if I am the only one dealing with this. What is up with it? I have more than enough bandwidth and computer to play this game six times over at once. Not that I ever would but still. So this should not be an issue. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times.

The game tends to hang below

The game tends to hang below the 50 kbit/sec mark in both directions, so I doubt it's clogging your tubes.

If your on a home network with a router it may need a firmware update or you should try opening up the ports as listed in the Technical Help Sticky.

(Also there's 4 bars worth of connection)

Same problem, upload bandwith maxes out

Hey,
Having the same issue as OP. I've noticed that it'll seemingly randomly max my upload bandwidth according to resource monitor and my network meter sidebar gadget (which I assume just reads from resource monitor) before dc'ing two to ten minutes later.

The longest I've played before this has dc'd me is about 10 minutes, are you seeing the same kind of frequency Matsuya?

Edit: Issue hasn't happened while in Haven, only in dungeons, both alone and with a friend.

Some info if it helps:
Living in Australia, reliable DSL (512/128), usually just high ping for overseas servers
Win7-32bit, no SP1
Reinstalled Java, Version 6 Update 24, no runtime parameters
Reinstalled Spiral Knights (using standalone, not browser)
Forwarded the ports for my router, router firewall is on (D-Link DSL-504T)
Windows firewall is off (From control panel and services.msc), no extra firewalls installed, antivirus uninstalled
Only non-windows software running is: Logitech G15 support and setpoint, mumble (voip), realtek HD audio manager
Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 drivers are up to date (not like it would matter in this case)

Can't think of anything else to add, if anyone can think of anything to try please let us know.

Me too

I have this problem as well.

If I'm the only one using the net everything is fine, but when another person is using the net for anything other than browsing websites e.g youtube, FB games, etc. I will lag so bad for me (Delayed movement, matrix bullets etc) same as OP.

With other games that i play e.g starcraft2, CoD, CS, LoL etc this never happens.
I can do a direct download or stream a youtube while playing other games but not with Spiral Knights.
Do this game need that much bandwidth to play?

Oh, and i have forwarded the ports as well.

Same thing here.

I just got invited to a party @lvl15. My Upload shot up to the max of 512kbps (That's about 55kilobytes per second) and I couldn't move at all. I died before I moved, and I was teleporting all over the place. I switched off wireless after getting revived, and I also closed all programs, tested the firewall, tested the antivirus, the same still happens after they've moved to another level. (Not sure why but I was given the descend button after about half a minute).

Any solutions for this weird problem? My ping/jitter values are 300/80 to CA servers.

Kinda solved

Well I had this problem too and I kind of "solved" this by not playing fullscreen...
but them I reached Tier 2 and it all started again...

This Problem is really annoying I've wasted like 50CE on not-played floors due to this, I don't wanna buy CE to waste it due a bug, I wanna buy it and PLAY with it...

I have the same problem. To

I have the same problem. To me it seems level dependent. I mean this tends to happen on arenas (almost always) and snow levels most often, but has happened on fire and poison levels too. It happens for the whole level then after I get to the next level it goes away in a few seconds. In the past I was able to crash the game and log back in, and get back to where I was in the dungeon and it went away, but not always. Sometimes I was sent back to haven.

This is definitely the most annoying bug. It interferes greatly with gameplay. Hope it will be fixed, or some solution found.

http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/4917 -a bug to it folks. Huge upload spike. No matter how long you wait, it still continues. A reboot sometimes helps, but forget about playing in a team.

It happened again today, and this time after I crashed the game, it went away. So it is a bug. I guess I'll post in that thread too.

I recently updated my system,

I recently updated my system, and I haven't seen any lag spikes since. Maybe it has something to do with this ? There have been some spikes of lag when lots of things spawn on the screen at once tho.
