Why do u make everything steam? like the DLC F2P can only get it if its on steam.

@Asukalanforum: Steam is NOT the devil. You make it sound like a terrible service, it's not. Steam is one of the best ways to buy games, and it is here to stay.
@Mastersleety: Steam rocks, and OOO noticed. Though some of us don't like it, OOO is trying to make money, real money. Crowns will not buy my family dinner or pay my mortgage. OOO knows that, and putting a $4 (currently) expansion on Steam will make them money. There are over 4 MILLION Steam users, and a lot of them will see the add for a $4 expansion to a free game, and then try the free game, and then probably support the company and buy the expansion. They got $4 from me. Not for the last time either. I'm a happy Spiral Knights player, who is now P2P... but probably not to purchase energy... just can't get myself to do it. Elevator pass is tempting though.

So what? I play Spiral Knights, not Steam Knights. This update showed they OOO dont care both for players who play on kongregate and even for those who use official client, becouse forcing someone to use third party app is definetly NOT caring.
Look, Asukalanforum. Will you please just calm the heck down? Maybe try reading stuff Nick posts next time. Like the fact that they're working on getting it for people who don't use Steam. And since I know you're going to complain about them not releasing the content to you first, let me just say that getting DLC added to Steam is most likely MUCH easier than adding the code to have the option in-game. So please, quit whining. It's very unbecoming of you.

I don't even understand why you're blaming OOO and Steam. This is clearly a problem on Kongregate's end if they don't tell you what username and password they registered you as. If you want to rant and complain, do it on Kongregate not here because as much as OOO might want to help you, they have no control over what happens on Kongregate's end.

Kongregate just gives login API that uses authentication key and kongregate ID. The fact is that kongregate ID is USED as username, the password is mystery (and also kongregate ID that is username contains ':' therfore you can put it in client). Here ends kongregate part.
Using authentication key and kongregate ID spiral knights server recognizes your account and logs you into it.
With only something that basing on your kongregate ID/authentication key or anything else would recognise you and generate password and new username for you, to make kongregate players play here.
Also using authentication key and kongregate ID you can bypass kongregate site to login (yet your knights is still linked to kongregate, you use kreds to buy) using special generated link that auto logins you to game, as a client it uses http://www.spiralknights.com/kongplay.xhtml. Of course you still dont know your password and you cant put your username/kongregate ID as username.
Also a fact its possible to log in on forum (therfore be recognized as player) using kongregate shows its POSSIBLE. While i was registering for spiral knights newsletter one the momen when i confirmed my mail i was ONCE in lifetime logged in on forum with my kongregate account, THE username was my kongregate ID, passowrd was already put in so i couldnt get it. After few hours i was auto logged out since my session epired.
So, kongreate has nothing to do with it, they just lend login API that allows your kongregate account to be recognised by spiral knights server. It constist of Kond ID and auth key, the kong role ends here. Next its ooo
Yes, its like they made kongregate just an advertisment board. We are completly cut off from everything.
Starting with support pages, requesting GM help in game, CE history, KNOWING OUR PERSONAL USERNAME AND PASSWORD. Also we cant link your accounts to main page nor to STEAM.
This is one of the worst things seeing how OOO sold their souls to Steam, every new thing apperas there and now its either pay $$$$ or you are forced to use steam.
