Hi. I was wondering that with weapons like DA/GF, the Toothpick and Brandish line and some guns, do bombs like RSS, DBB and Nitronome and maybe even AoA still have a decent place in the LD scene? Would someone be better off sticking to conventional swords and guns or do these DPS bombs actually contribute something to a winning team?

Discuss please.

From my experience

RSS = great in right hands
DBB = great even in wrong hands
Nitro = a no no
AoA = a bit of a deterant, though, tbh if I had a choice between killing you and waiting so i didn't catch fire, i'd just kill you :P shock, stun or freeze on the other hand...

Also interested to see how this new shadow bomb is... must... play... lockdown... again :D

Yeah, I was thinking that

Yeah, I was thinking that too. .___. But I mean, a lot of people like playing Strikers.

Would it be easy to catch these guys in a blast radius, considering I have to charge a bomb and set it down as well? Toothpick strikers seem too fast for that kind of stuff.

In my experience, it's fairly

In my experience, it's fairly easy to avoid getting hit by those bombs in a 1v1 fight, regardless of which class you play. They can certainly help with area denial (esp. against recons) and do a good bit of damage if they do hit, but you won't get too many kills with them. They can wreak some havoc in a large team fight, but overall I'd use blast bombs pretty sparingly.

Oh, and Ash of Agni is very weak. It does something like 4 bars of damage with the full burn on someone with no fire resistance, and it doesn't disable at all, so as long as your opponent can afford to lose a bit of health, you're basically wide open. Fights in LD just don't last long enough for the DoT to pay off.

Nitro is leagues better than

Nitro is leagues better than DBB due to the insane knockback, it's disorienting and can keep inexperienced strikers away from you, however, I would have to not recommend either bomb against experienced strikers who can easily time their dashes to poke you before the bomb goes off and dash out without taking damage. I don't think DPS bombs are super viable in LD except for RSS and DR.

I find that DPS bombs are

I find that DPS bombs are only good in large groups. If I see someone trying to drop a bomb, I switch to my gun, flinch them, then switch to my sword and slay them. I use bombs a lot, but only as area denial (VT/SMB). I want to try the new shadow bomb combined with my VT since it works sorta like a haze bomb, but I don't have it yet.

Continuous nitro bombing will send enemies flying away from the point.
Maybe not the best DPS, but buys you some time if you're alone capturing.
