As the unbinding fee is most definitely not worth it, I'm just wondering whether or not there's any point in crafting it to sell to others.

Bound on craft, but able to be unbound. Since only people who have bought the expansion pack can craft it, you could likely sell it to f2p and make profit over unbinds.
