Make sure your system satisfies the game's minimum requirements.
Update your video drivers.
Ensure that hardware video acceleration is fully enabled."

Won't even open.

Running Windows 8 Consumer Preview 64bit (from Windows 7), if anyone knows what it is, please, do tell.
Everything's updated and I downloaded the latest java.
Spiral Knights won't start, but Team Fortress 2 does, I'm gonna take a guess and say its something with the java.

Thanks!

Do you have an Intel graphics

Do you have an Intel graphics chip? They have terrible support for OpenGL, which is Spiral Knight's rendering engine, and decent support for almost everything else. I may have heard that Team Fortress 2 uses Torque as it's rendering engine, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, you might have to wait for special graphics chip drivers to play OpenGL rendered games like Spiral Knights and Minecraft in Windows 8. Also, I'm using my experience with Windows XP and Vista to solve this, since I have no experience with Windows 8 (obviously).

I can't imagine many people

I can't imagine many people are using the Windows 8 consumer preview yet.

You could try asking around on other, more technologically inclined forums about Windows 8 Intel Graphics Chip drivers that are compatible with later versions of OpenGL.

That Intel chip is likely the problem. A quick search reveals that Intel has not released a trial driver for Windows 8 yet. This means you are probably using the in-built Windows driver. The problem with Windows built-ins or Windows Update drivers is that they are stripped of OpenGL support. You may be able to find a way to shoehorn in a Vista/7 driver with some work, otherwise you'll need to back off the preview if you want to play Spiral Knights.

Yeah, I'd hope they can

Yeah, I'd hope they can somehow release a driver as Windows 8 is REALLY smooth with the start button animations and such.
