It took me a while to figure
It took me a while to figure it out too. In the mission you will see a salt circle with a bunch of knights inside of it. You will also see a small pile of salt in the middle of the circle. Examine the small pile of salt in the middle of the circle to open the gate.

Yeah, look what is appearing
Yeah, look what is appearing on screen while you move around camp, there should be a trigger near salt in the middle of camp. You should move slowly, turn around and look of trigger sign.
The regular talk sign is "...", it appears ina little cloud when you approach an NPC. The trigger sign is "!" that also appears in a little cloud when you approach trigger button. When you see little "!" in a speechbubble appearing next to you char you must click attack/activate.
You should look for some sparkles, they should indicate where you should go (you dont really need the rock salt material to compleete the mission).
