Tomorrows prestige mission 'Arms appropriation' requires the 4* Blizzbrand weapon. Or at least it does for me at the Defender rank. When the patch notes said no special weapons I thought it put an end to obsessive turn in rewards.
Im a bit annoyed at being asked for over 40000 crowns worth of equipment for a very small reward. Todays monstrous research only required 3 cooling cells, volt oil and a perfect snowball and gave 150 prestige!. I can buy those items on the AH now for only 2000 crowns. That's a difference of over 180 crowns per prestige point.
At least your able to AH those items in a 48 hour period. Assuming you really must have the prestige having to heat a 4* weapon in a short time is a bit of an ask anyway.
Don't get me wrong I like the new missions system and I just passed 4000 prestige. I however think there needs to be some consistency in the cost vs reward or theres no point in bothering with them.
Especially as not ranking up allows you to complete lower tier prestige missions that seem to not have these prohibitively expensive turn in missions. With most people finishing all the available rank missions in just a few days it's possible that in the future those with the highest prestige will have stayed at the lowest ranks.
Blizzbrand for 200 prestige?
I think the logic is that once you reach the defender rank, the system sees you as a tier-3 player. Thus the prestige missions you do are in the third tier, as well as the materials (notice they also ask you turn in 4-star mats from time to time). I guess it follows the same logic with the arms appropriation mission.
Just don't do it if it bothers you that much. Tomorrow another prestige mission will roll in and you can probably do that then.
It looks like the patch notes meant all of the promo items and special token items by "special weapons."
After the patch, the mod cal it was asking for turned into a blaze pepper (THANK YOU OOO! lol) but tomorrow it's still asking me for a Toxic Atomizer.
Most (read: any) players probably don't have 4* items kicking around to give away for some prestige, very many probably can't even afford to give up 3* items... but it's still something that if you were chasing prestige, you theoretically COULD obtain to give away for requisition in a day's notice.
Kind of stinks, but it's a LOT better now that exclusive and hard to obtain items have been removed. It would be nice if at least it was limited to things that don't have to be unbound to sell. It would keep it at 3* at least then so someone who doesn't have the recipe could buy the item in the auction house if they really wanted to. I doubt anyone is making and un binding blizzbrands or toxic atomizers to sell, but lets count our blessings, right?
Funny thing is that a Deluxe Supply Pack (6250 crowns) gives the same 200 prestige.
Damn, Devs, either make the weapons give really tons of prestige or remove the weapons requirement leaving only supply and mats.
Going off of what Eeyup said - restrict it to supply packs or materials, OR just set the cut-off at 3* for the time being. Even if 4* is the upper echelon of Tier 2 as well as the gateway to Tier 3 if you have a full 4* set, the missions we have currently aside from Prestige Missions themselves (and those who have it, Expansions) are the only Tier 3 mission content we have. So in essence, our prestige requirements are on a Tier 3 scale while our actual mission access only reflects Tier 2 permissions, which is a little confusing at the moment.
Any chance we can hear back from Nick on this and whether or not it'll be addressed in future updates? Or is this a sign that we should expect Tier 3 mission content in the coming days (re: less than one week)?
I understand your pain. Tomorrow it's asking me for a Fiery Pepperbox for 200 prestige. Crafting four star weapons on a whim, and taking time to heat them, solely for 200 prestige? And here I was enjoying not missing any daily missions. :<
Eh, I haven't even been doing the Prestige missions besides Monstrous Research. Until I see what the reward is, I don't feel like trading tons of crowns or spending a lot of time for useless points.
Well if you all think you have it bad, I have to hand in an electron bomb... http://steamcommunity.com/id/drastorm/screenshot/505766033486203749?tab=...
I'm really hoping what Toastnaut said would apply: After the patch, the mod cal it was asking for turned into a blaze pepper (THANK YOU OOO! lol)
Mine didn't change when it went from "tomorrow" to "today."
The day of the patch that removed special items, my mission already was to turn in a Mod Cal, and it turned into a Blaze Pepper after the reboot and patch.
That still seems like a tall order, but I wouldn't get my hopes up that it'll turn into something else.
It might be worth submitting a bug report since that sounds like a "special weapon" that should have been removed from the list, since you need to play a whole lot of PVP to be able to get one of those.
Can you tell me what patch note it was that tells there would no longer be any 'special weapons', just so I have quotation.
Thanks in advance ^^
Crafting 4* items for prestige is fine, it's a good crown/CE sink which should benefit the CE market in the long run. The heat is a non-issue because you only have to actually "heat up" the item from 3* to 4*, which only requires level 5, which can almost be fully completed in any 2-floor mission, assuming you are only leveling up that item.
The only real issue with these missions is getting items with non-standard recipes (i.e. anything that is not in the hall of heroes). But still, prestige missions are fully optional.

Under Misc Changes near the bottom.
I agree, but I also think the prestige reward should be scaled appropriately compared to the Deluxe Supply Pack giving the same amount for way less cr/ce/time.
EDIT: Oh hey, a Heavy Deconstructor for tomorrow >.< Pass.
I think I win most absurd weapon this round. Blight Needle.
Hah
I have to turn in Haze Burst tomorrow, something I'd be completely fine with if I had ANY of the recipes in that line. I'm not about grind my face into pvp for hours on end for 150 tokens, then grind some more to get enough crowns and energy for the craft.
Personally think it should ask for recipes you have and not ones you don't, I'm sure a lot more people would be willing to do it if that was the case. I know I would, this is the first Prestige mission I won't complete.
It wants me to turn in my Winmillion for 200 prestige. Um, no.
Why even do these "missions"?
Is prestige anything besides a # that shows up if you inspect someone?
Nick said that in future prestige will be somehow used and ppl with high will have benefits from it... but aswell they can just before update announce that prestige can be used only if you make ''a purchase"
Suposedly they will give rewards in the future. I actually expect a shop of some kind.
It was asking for only 2* items before a patch, now its asking for 4*...
It wants me to turn in my Winmillion for 200 prestige. Um, no.
I don't know, that one sounds like a pretty good trade to me.
I'm being requested to craft a blight needle. Um... no thanks...
Last time it asked me to craft Dark Thorn Blade. Double no.
Mega Magnus eh..........I might have thought of giving it if Nick hadn't said that they are buffing it :)
What in the name of is this? I just got asked for a Valiance for 300 points! This is what you call "fixing", OOO??? This is amazingly jaw-dropping...
Voltedge for 300 prestige.
Too bad I haven't saved up those 300 Krogmo coins for the recipes yet or this would be 'SOOOOOOOOOOO' tempting.
NOT.
Actually - what this appears to be is a way to burn non-UV'd items since selling most of them now is moot on AH.
I really have to wonder if it is just that due to the absolute lack of clues of what is that supposed reward we will get. Maybe they just don't say it so people still throw everything into that endless pit.

I'm not even a bomber Q_Q
When did he say that?
On topic: Umbra Driver tomorrow, herp derp.
On topic: Electron Vortex for tomorrow.
LOL NOTHX
I don't even have one for myself, why would I give one to an NPC? At least make the Prestige Points worth it for turning in something that's the equivalent of 1800 CE cost (crowns + CE + mats converted into raw CE estimate), because I'd rather go around Haven and donate CE to people if this is going to be the regular trend now.
I think what's actually really appalling about this whole system is that if the item is in your inventory, it auto-populates the "trade in" bubble.
Accidentally click that start button... and "POOF", item gone.
You know someone is going to do it at some point.
I'm curious to see how that goes down.
*agrees with Jacobey*
I've been worried about that from day one, I just *know* it will happen to me one day, I have twitchy fingers ;>
Today's prestige hand-in mission for me was:
Shivermist Buster in exchange for 300 prestige points.
This... isn't even funny. Just plain WRONG.
@Jacobey I agree too!! I was terrified to accidentally click on "start"!!
there should be a propmt for confirmation on these missions!
I don't even use swords and they still wanted a glacius from me.
Why the heck do they want 5* weps from us? I mean geez, some of these things take time to make, they're not exactly easy to come by.
Also, Blitz Needle for 300 prestige.
HECK NO.
Seriously... This is foolishness and makes the player feel bad when they see such a bad deal. Is a glaciuis (3500 CE) worth 300 prestige? Or how about $9.99 (cost of 3500 CE) worth 300 prestige.... I hope no one did this mission. How about you simply trade CE for prestige? If it was 1 for 1, that would be 3500 prestige. Anyway, I wish the developers would pre think what they will do with prestige instead of testing us to see what we will give up for something, that as for now, offers no rewards!!!!
Crafting a Glacius is only about 1800 CE. It's not that hard to straight up make a 5* item...... if you can grind KoA like crazy.
Still, I agree that it's ridiculous.
If crafting fees weren't there I could see myself actually doing these missions, but they are there, so no Shivermist Buster turn-in tomorrow. I can live.
The poor knights! Beaten by gremlins.... all they want is just one, JUST ONE of you're decent items so that they can defend their honor in the clockworks to help find the alpha squad! You guys should be ashamed of yourself! Some 'prestigious' knights you are.
Can I keep smacking it with my hammer? Or maybe I could slash it with my Cutter... Hmm... :3

Sadly, some people really do. On the day the prestige badge is officially released, I've seen some people with 3 bars. There's no other way to get that much unless they are also turning in items.
My proposed reward is 300 Prestige but it wants a 5-star weapon (Voltedge).
My response is simply not to do the Prestige mission but honestly it's just a bit idiotic to even ask for a 5-star weapon in the first place.
And yes, some people do it, but that's probably because the economy does not have any other outlet for the accumulated wealth of billionaires. People who've been around since the start of the game and racked up rare items (imagine owning 20 white regalia sets right now) have no problem spending 3K CE daily if they have to even for some marginal reward.
Nonetheless the exception proves the rule. If the only people who can afford the Prestige missions are the ones whose economic reality is completely exceptional and outside of the normal system, then obviously those Prestige missions are ridiculous in nature.
Sadly...
What's sad about it? I've turned in two RSS's, a Nova Driver, a Glacius, and an Iron Slug most recently. I literally have nothing better to spend my money on.
By special weapons, OOO meant the ones like the Sealed Sword and Static Flash. The ones you can not craft and must find another way.
