Well which one is better?
And which alchemer is the best?
I want to use it as a support gun for my bombs for killing of the odd creep
Im thinking of:

Prismatech or
Cryotech

which one of these two is better? Is it worth to have the extra elemental damage and have no status with it?

Extra damage is useful. Look

Extra damage is useful.

Look up "experience with hail driver" to learn whether you want a freeze alchemer or not.

Supernova is just a high knockback normal gun. Not preferred, as it is normal, and polaris does the job better with elemental damage and shock.

For killing, doing dps, alchemers are better. Unless you need a turret gun, which is polaris.

Is it worth getting an Alchemer with a status effect over a pure elemental gun?

hail driver is more of a

hail driver is more of a utility gun than a dps gun.

drivers have better dps. nova has the best single target dps. the shock one is great only if the monsters are clustered up (this is pretty rare though). the fire one is great against groups (you have to light one on fire then move onto the next one).

Status infliction is for

Status infliction is for those who enjoy the utility of statuses. You can't wrong with a pure damage prisma.

But I was under the impression Rss was the pure bomber's way of fighting turrets, other than the new retribution bomb.

Im not p2p so retribution is out of the way for me.

Rss a bombers way to kill turrets? Erm RSS bomber's way to kill turrets well it takes a while to pick them off and when you have various turrets aiming at you it isn't ideal. Plus if you want them multiple times you have to get close which is risky. Plus you have polyps which resist piercing so your dmg to them is already low. RSS could be used on turrets but there are better forms of dps for turrets In my opinion.

So prismatech is a good choice?

I said pure bombers. Like how

I said pure bombers. Like how pure gunners use callahan to kill beasts, you know? Better options, but using it for the sake of using it.

In a turret field, a polaris is still better than alchemer. You could one shot puppies with alchemer charge, but as a pure bomber you don't have any special gun bonus for them. Polaris interrupts puppies, allowing you to silence and kill before they shoot at you.

Alchemers are perfectly viable, takes more work than a polaris. But it allows you to gun targets other than turrets without bothering teammates.

Before retribution, rss was the main way to deal huge dps on a single target.

totally off topic, but

Just a note, if you have Steam you can trade for the DLC. At 65cr/CE, it costs 2200CE to buy recipes and craft a weapon from 2* to 5*. Yea, you can save maybe 70CE by buying the 2* item if you want. I know you can easily get the DLC for 3kce, and cheaper if you find someone willing to help you out.

Just saying, that buying the DLC with CE isn't really that much more expensive than crafting a single weapon. Not only would you get the bomb, but the sword and to play the levels. Not a bad deal if you really want the bomb, but don't want to pay $.

Anyways, I'd go with the prismatech if I was going with an alchemer (I have a magma driver, but that was before I got into bombs). I expect most bombers to have SMB, AoA, and VT to do status affects, so you don't need a gun to do them also. Also, if you want to use it for turrets, your best bet is as much damage as possible, and as Demonicsothe points out that if this is strictly for turrets that polaris is superior.

thanks..the reason why i never mentioned polaris in OP is because imo it is an over-used weapon and i prefer to use weapons which aren't extremely common. It's kinda the reason why i went bombs instead of full vog DA and barbarous thorn shield etc.

@Demon Thanks anyway. Sometimes it's fun to go pure bombs but other times you like to have a weapon for turrets when you want to kill them quick and aren't looking for much of a challenge ;) . Yes i use RSS for turrets but sometimes i prefer to kill them in a faster way.The main reason for wanting a gun is E.g. if your in an arena and all the turrets spawn esp polyps RSS takes too long and will most likely get ya killed. You could say im a bad bomber for finding this hard..but well i find it hard so that's the main reason why i chose a gun.. Because i hate having to dodge like 8 turrets shooting at me at the same time...and i wanted a change from swords too :D

I'm still a newbie

I'm still a newbie gunslinger, but my experience with alchemers has been amazing to say the least. I received some excellent advice on this board last week and I've been applying it with great success. With the alchemer ricochet bug, on a good shot, you can get three times the damage out of one bullet, and it's easiest to practice on turrets, but also very easy on slimes.

My Cryo Driver serves me really well against turrets, and the freeze effect is very common. Not as good against Polyps though, but I also carry a Shadow Driver for just that. Polaris might still be better, I can't say because I haven't tried it, but alchemers can certainly do the job quite well.

Supernova is superior to

Supernova is superior to Polaris when being used for survivability (using the knockback) because Polaris shocks (shock cancels knockback, makes the charge attack extremely not helpful to use for survivability).

Alchemers are DPS-oriented and Supernova + Polaris are survivability-oriented.

The splits and ricochet of the alchemers are intended and not bugs. Wether or not someone double clips on a single target is just them utilizing the mechanics of the gun. It's sort of like clipping the charge attack.

When you reach the level where you don't need to rely on Polaris for turrets as a gunner, Supernova or some other useful gun would be better. You will still have a hard time with rocket puppies without the Polaris though, and having Polaris is suggested for some content or rooms more than the Supernova.

As a bomber, i keep a sword

As a bomber, i keep a sword for turrets, I use my Cold Iron Carver. If I'm solo, one charge attack kills them, and unless it's a turret death field I can handle it. If I'm not solo, I wait for someone with a gun to do it. =)

RSS works pretty good on turrets, but you're right, not so much on the slime based ones. yes, RSS is slow, but it has great range, and I pick off many turrets that way. Undead turrets are especially fun. Dropping Voltaic Tempest and Ash of Agni in turret fields also works, if you can dodge long enough, they burn and shock to death. Not sure why you don't like shock... at the moment it's my favorite status to inflict.

You can also use Nitro on turrets.

I've seen bombers with polaris. I don't use guns at all, so if I was going to use one, I'd want one where I didn't need to be very precise because I have no practice with them. That's just me though.
