Ever since I started playing this game and did my first JK run, I have always wondered about the amount of tokens you get per run. On the wiki, it says you can get 3-4, however, I would like to know if the amount is random or is there something specific you have to do to get 4 instead of 3 tokens.
It would suck if it was random which means I might have to do another extra run which means I have to wait for my mist to recharge or I might get lucky and get 4 tokens.
If you join at depth before boss battle you get 1 token, if you join 1 depths before boss battle you get 2 tokens, if you join 2 depths before boss battle you get 3 tokens.

The extra one token is given to you randomly, no matter when you joined the party.
Every once in a while you get four. I used to think that it happened if you beat the Jelly King quickly, but that's not true, lol. Way back in the day you could get three to five.
Yeah I always thought you get more based on how fast you beat the boss, and based on how much health you lose.
Now I know it's just random...
For fsc, most people skip d24 because it pays out less in cr. But a few times when my friend did this, he only received 3 tokens while the rest of the team received 4. Starting at d25 for fsc does net you 3 full tokens though.
I think it's more of doing the levels so you can have a "max possible" amount of tokens at the end, with extras tacked on randomly.
If you don't do all the floors between the terminal and the boss, you get less tokens.. but when you do all floors, you get 3 or 4.
Mostly you get 3, but rarely 4.. getting 4 tokens is mostly an excuse to celebrate! Well.. that's how rare that have been to me.
