So, I think it's really awesome that swords have little things you can do to make your gameplay more technical, such as Shield Charging, Beating, Lunging, and Shield Canceling.

Some of those techniques can be applied to guns as well, such as Shield Charging, and they also have Reload Skip.

I feel like Bombs have no technical aspects to them, and contributes to people saying bombing is a skill-less profession for Knights to have. While I argue that Bombing isn't as mindless as people say it is, it certainly does lack the finesse that swords have. I would like to see more technical aspects added to both Guns AND Bombs, though I'm not sure what could be added that could make them more technical, and more importantly, make the player feel more professional as they master these subtle techniques.

Would anyone else like to see Guns and Bombs given more techniques, and a higher skill-cap for learning to use and master these weapon categories?

I find it tricky to place

I find it tricky to place bomb in crowded place without shielding up and getting hit. When i do it i usually panic and use shield therfore im bumping enemies away from bomb i just placed so they dont get hit :S

Also bomb has cool technique, when you keep direction walk key pressed and rapidly click attack button you will do fancy slow walk with lifting your bomb up and down that propably haters gonna hate.

Bombing requires you to have

Bombing requires you to have very intricate knowledge of enemy timing and which telegraph refers to which move. This is insanely important and high skill as you are running into the thick of battle completely helpless and if you get hit, even while placing the bomb, all is for naught.

You also need to be able to approximate where enemies are going to fly should you be hefting a blast bomb so as to not waste time and harm yourself and teammates.

There is also the much harder skill of knowing what teammates will do in a situation so you can stop them from knocking enemies out of your range.

We also shield cancel, but it isn't as noticable to others.

There are many more examples but I can't think of them, but Bombers at least have just as much of a skill floor as Swordies

.

.

Got nothing on guns, I'm a bomber.

The only technical thing I

The only technical thing I could see them adding is the ability to overcharge-chain bombs so that you charge one for a few seconds longer than usual then drop it and if you immediately start charging again, you can drop another one in a shorter time frame, this short time frame charge continuing until you stop dropping bombs. Being attacked resets this, not immediately charging again resets this and dropping a certain number of overcharged bombs in a row causes it to overheat meaning you can't use it for a few seconds.

I think it wouldn't impact on the current bomb meta, which is already spamming bombs. But incentivizes not being hit and intelligent placement as well as timing.

As for guns, if you're using guns with bullets slower than your movement speed, walking forward allows you to cluster the bullets closer together. This is a pretty important part of using guns offensively that not many people take advantage of.

^ Or maybe a overcharge where you "Double charge" and you can lay 2 more bombs without having to charge. So 3 total.
Or maybe give it a bigger radius. idk

Guns also require you to know

Guns also require you to know your "shot type" depending on what you have equipped. Knowing where to put an Alchemer shot to put status+damage to an entire group, pushing with Pulsar-Blaster lines your targets to favorable places for your group, focusing fire on "moths" while in a mob, using all but 1 in your load to not charge... Also, gunners shield cancel too.

Every style has its different skill levels.

But that would make the Dark Retribution more overpowered than it already is! XD

@Maeko Bombs DO have

@Maeko

Bombs DO have technical aspects to them, but I feel like they more have to do with situational awareness than anything else. I would like actual game mechanics that reward the player for doing certain things that may require more precise timing or complicated controls, as the sword techniques listed above have. It would make gameplay feel more rewarding and challenging.

@Shoebox

I like that idea.

Every weapon in this game is

Every weapon in this game is so simple to use. The trick is getting a good player to run into your simple attack. Mind games are the most fun when playing around in LD. Unfortunatly anyone with an autoaim toothpick can just get near ya and start clicking with the first swing or two and be quite successful in destroying any mindgame you might be trying to use. That's the price ya pay in attepting to be successful without going mainstream.
