I either had an Ancient set or a DA first. Then I went soloing in them, along with a strike needle. Never could beat Vana back then.

This was sooooo long ago
I think my first 5* was either dread skelly suit or helm. Then came the shield, glacius and obsidian edge. Still my only 5* gear XD boy am I slow!

Wouldn't craft any other item as my first 5* item. Still have it but rearely use it because I bought myself Frozen Great Cleaver when there was the promo.
On my very first account, back in the day in 2011, I too got combuster before it was used by everyone and their grandmother.
General opinion on Combuster-
Pre buff: DA ROCKS COMBUSTER BAD
Post Patch: Durr EXPLOSIONS!! PURDY LIGHTS
And thus, the combuster's hipster rep was soiled forever.
