Hiyas, Nubskills here.
Not sure what item to aim for next, I've decided to ask around to see if anyone has any suggestions on what to get next. Any items I should really upgrade soon?
Here are my current items(includes my basic setup and equipment i'm considering upgrading):
DA/Dark thorn blade/Faust
Kilowatt Pulsar/Prisma Driver/Antigua
Sun shards/Spine Cone
Dark thorn shield/Crest of Almire
Snarby set
Here's a list of what I'm considering, in current preferential order(with "/" for those that i equally prefer to get soon):
1. Acheron/Barbarous Thorn Blade
2. Barbarous Thorn Shield/Nova Driver
3. Blackhawk/Radiant Sun Shards/Vog set/Gran Faust
4. Gigawatt Pulsar/Sentenza/Voltedge/A Vortex bomb
5. Wild Hunting Blade
6. Dark Briar Barrage/Mad Bomber set

Hoping for suggestions and/or recommendations along with reasoning, such as on the ordering of the list, and what to add to it. Pretty stuck at the moment, to be honest ^^"

Had to keep it simple, lots of homework to do :'(

sorry if this isn't really helpful, but

if you can do Shadow Lair Gloaming Wildwoods twice with your existing gear (which is a pretty impressive feat), I don't think you need to upgrade anything at all

Gee, thanks for the compliment, Meta. ^^ It's partly due to lag and low fps though, which is a constant reminder to me that I should stay defensive/evasive most of the time and attack at certain times. Not being tired helped too lol(which was why I did worse on my 2nd T^T)

I'll add some of my reasoning as I go along, really need to go to sleep now >.<
Acheron-For gremmies, also because I like being able to use charge attacks(GF charge is kinda slow)
BTB-Cool traily glow and snarby nom, and I'm sure i'll apreciate the extra damage for vana and trolljans

Hmm

Since you're apparently a pretty skilled player, anything you upgrade from now is more for convenience issues than for "I need this to succeed". So here goes.

- Upgrade Dark Thorn Shield to Barbarous Thorn Shield, it gives more sword damage

- Upgrade your Kilowatt Pulsar to Gigawatt unless you plan on using it in T2 PVP

- Upgrade your Antigua to Blackhawk (since you already have 2 elemental guns)

- You might as well get a Gran Faust before Acheron since you already have the 4* version of GF

Or, start crafting a

Or, start crafting a bomber/gunner set. Work towards vortexes, rss, blast bombs, hazes.

You've got just about everything you need to succeed with your current set, so why not try a different playstyle.

Barring that, I say the bts first. Having a higher damage bonus could be the difference in comboing a monster down faster.

Going by your list:
Acheron upgrade could be good, more explosions. Btb upgrade is just more damage, and I think one or two more thorns on the charge.

Alchemers get a damage boost in charge from upgrades, 2 more bullets split.

Ah ok, thanks guys! I'll aim for Acheron then, should I get the Vog set too? It has fire resist for laggy fsc runs and asi, good for DA, and I was thinking of using FoV with it(the charge for LD/bosses too). If not Vog, then I'll prolly upgrade DTB(for LD) and....hmm....either antigua to blackhawk or dark thorn shield.
I'm still building a swordie set for now, but I'll definitely move on to guns and bombs later lol

Go for Vog, its a nice set,

Go for Vog, its a nice set, despite being overused. And damage trinkets to go along with. Vh asi and damage.

I wouldn't use fov regular attacks, pretty bad. And if fov is your main elemental weapon, you'fre doing it wrong.

I was thinking of using FoV for it's charge attacks mainly, if I were to choose a main elem sword, it'll probably be DA or Warhammer. Hmm, I might come back to it later and consider it then, already got a vog replacement i guess.
Might get ctr trinkets then, seeing how theres a chance i'll get vog in the future. But that's prolly after getting some guns and bombs lol

GO BOMBER!!!

Get yourself a bomber set along with the main elemental bombs - Voltaic, Shiver, Agni, and maybe a Nitro. Break away from the norms of Swordfighting and Gun Wielding! Seriously, bombing is so fun~

Gunning is a norm? I thought there were more bombers than gunners lol :P Anyway, i hope to try them all out in the future, DBB seems awfully fun too, without the lag and flash from nitronome.

SL Gloaming Wildwoods is a walk in the park compared to the other three. It's only slightly more difficult than FSC.

I would definitely get all your current gear to 5* first. You already have a fairly well-rounded arsenal, so I'd say it's more important just to get it functioning at full power.

Saw those videos on the other SLs, the one I remembered most was SLRJP, so many enemies in that one. o.o

Ah right, I'll fix that then, should I get a Blackhawk for now? Or would just an Acheron do? I was also considering crafting a RSS bomb as a sidearm, or crafting a Nova Driver for a better charge. Might get my BTS though, but I usually run with a CoA nowadays, since I do FSC relatively often. Hmm, any suggestions of new stuff to aim for? I'll be aiming for full sets of gunner and bomber in the long run, but is there anything that would stand out enough in terms of utility/effectiveness/etc.?

FoV

The FoV is actually a great sword... for anywhere BUT FSC/fire stratum... It beats combuster even on wolvers, because fire isn't Ele damage.

It is a bit slower, but you'll be getting Vog anyways... and the difference isnt that big, speed wise.

So if you are doing FSC a lot, don't get the FoV, except for the Slag guards. If you plan to do other stratums, the FoV will get you through, charge or swings.

Disjointed reply~

Get a bts or swift strike. They can be your offensive shields, in strats you have no problem in. In fact, I believe a bts with full snarby puts one at max damage.

As a swordsmen, you shouldnt have to tank that many hits. When cornered, swords have the best reliable knockback. These days, I'm rolling a mad bomber suit and chaining vortexes together for my team. This requires me to get up close and tanking hits on my shield, so I preferred the CoA over bts. And certainly not the swiftstrike.

Have you the alchemers yet? A great gun, and really fun to play with, even if you only spam the charge. It also adds to your gunslinger loadout, should you ever use those.

Rss is more of the pure bomber's weapon. It has no utiliy in a group, and is heavily reliant on positioning to deal damage.

Acheron first, because that is what your gear supports the best.

@Tsubasa-No-Me
Hmm, question is, I'm not sure if I should get the vog set, since I already have snarbies, but I might get vog for FoV and my other heavy swords. And vog set is good for fsc, having speed is fun for swordies, etc., but I might have to limit my funds so I can get other weapon types. :) I'd definitely use it if I have vog, but idk if it's worth getting vog for a different playstyle and etc. Just got it today, pretty fun suiciding with it. Wait a minute, it's good for wolvers too? I thought the main way is to spam the charge on immobile enemies? Lol Tsu, I swear you bring that sword with you everywhere you go, from what I've seen xD

@Demonicsothe
Got swiftstrike, getting bts soon/sometime. I love damage...and speed counts too :3
DA has been pretty much doing most of the knockback for me so far, I might still dust off the ol' Faust for RJP levels though. Although I'll have to shield bump more now that I have more 3-hit swords.
I have a prisma driver, planning to upgrade it soon, somewhere along before or after dts. Gotta admit, pretty fun gun to play with lol.
Yeah, I kinda noticed that with sun shards testing, so I'm leaving it as it is for now. It's a nice gun though, I guess, has potential to be a utility weapon. With the recent zombie buff though, I guess it'll one-hit slags less :(
Yup, getting Acheron today =D

Right, I should probably

Right, I should probably clarify on my current question.
Should I go for the two vog pieces, benefiting my FSC runs along with a better armour set for DA and FoV, even though I already have two other wolver pieces, or upgrade dark thorn blade and either dark thorn shield, or prisma driver, buffing more of my arsenal?
I'd likely get the latter choice at a later date, but which ones should I get first?

Oh Nubskills, avoid the fire~

In relation to FSC, the overall killer of players is the fire (and lag >.>). So I ask, do you find the fire annoying?

If you feel that you can take fire to the face like a boss, but want to at least soften the blow, then just craft one vog cub armor
But, if you find that the majority of your deaths in FSC are caused by fire, then its best to craft both vog cub armor or a vog cub coat and a Divine Veil (some shadow defence is good for them jumping zombies nowadays).

Since you have the snarby armor set (therefore you get v.high dmg bonus), your Dark Thorn Blade would have the same (or close to same) dmg output as a Barbarous Thorn Blade without any dmg bonus (if you decided to craft the full vog cub set and replace the snarby set during FSC). Barbarous Thorn Shield is good for the extra dmg bonus, but you trade it for the fire resistance you get from the Grey Owlite Shield or Crest of Almire (I can't remember what shield you got Nub >.< soz), therefore Barbarous Thorn Shield is more prone to breaking in FSC.

But truely, its just personal preference. By buffing your arsenal; you increase your dmg output. By crafting both vog cub armor; you increase your defence and survivability to fire and slags. What do you prefer?

Say hi to me in game after you see this post k?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: Whoops! It seems that I made a mistake; having both vog cub armor does increase your defence and survivability to fire BUT NOT from dmg dealt from slags. And having both snarby armor does increase your defence and survivability to slag dmg BUT NOT from fire. Mislead you there with false information Nub. You'll have to think twice.

Get the vog. Unless you

Get the vog. Unless you already roll with quick slash trinks, the asi helps. And it makes fsc a breeze compared to a run with no fire resist.

If you already roll with snarby+2x asi meds, get the btb. Makes trojans easier, and you can help more with the charge on vanas.

@Tqs-Remx
Ah ok, with the new slag buff, i'd have to think carefully. Slag jumps can be similar to Devilite attacks in terms of lag exploitation, so I guess I might still use snarby for FSC. Guess I could always rely on the crest to tank slag hits, although lag again could render that useless.
OHAI THAR TQS! Thar we go, now on the forums too ^^

@Demonicsothe
Righty, I'm currently mainly leaning towards getting the vog set now. Ah, breezes...I like breezes......Hmm, thing about trinkets is that they cost similarly to crafting armour, so I might as well get the armour, I guess. I'll prolly aim for CTR trinkets then, it'll be a bit like spamming RSS methinks.

Would the vog set be a viable LD armour, do you think? What about when compared to the snarby set? I;ve currently been trying out acheron and fov in LD, acheron seems pretty balanced, with a useful charge and damage type. Still working on improving my skills with the fov.

LD...

Vog is now a bit more viable.. due to the hammer...

And yeah... fire is useful everywhere... but a fire stratum... XD

Also... if you are super worried about zombie jumps AND lag... you could do what i do... Fallen gives fire+shadow def... and ASI med (total) to everything... which does help with, well... everything... XD Add the good old swifty, and you'll get Ultra on everything... pretty darn good!

And yes, ASI makes bombs place faster :3

Nyan nyan nyan nyan....

Fallen seems more like a enemy specialist than a weapon specialist to me, I might craft the wep armours first lol, I'm guessing I might prefer vog over fallen, since i guess i could go CoA instead of swifty.
Just super worried about that lag, it's too hard a boss, I can only debuff it, but I can't defeat it. It's like the Swarm; it slows you down, damages you, except it's worse, since it can hurt you with nothing and can even kick you out of the game. Not to mention that it follows you around everywhere o.O
ASI makes bomb drops faster? Hmmmmm......starting to like swifty even moar now....
