What is up with those Devils?? i 've tried to pass it three times now. And the mission seems more difficult than all the others up to this point? Is that just me? I mean on everyother mission i ve used 10 ME per elevator. SO thats 20 ME to complete one mission. But with these?? its like i have to use all 100 ME to stay alive.

And what is up with players not working as a team?

I mean , there could be a strategy to fighting multiple devils. Lets say theres 4 players, getting attacked from multiple sides. 2 of the players could be blocking with their shields. Why the other two attack the devils in front.

Always keeping an eye on the blockers shields. So they can switch out before their shields break.

IDK, So far i have mixed feelings about the missions. For one its nice to have a sort of story mode now. But, the whole rank system? its annoying. I mean i have three star to five star gear already. And i have to start from apprentice? Most of the gear i got from those early missions are thrash tha i cant get rid of.

kinda pissed.

1. Mission seems more

1. Mission seems more difficult that others?
You dont have right gear, you are not skilled enough, you do it in wrong way. Mission is too hard for you, dont do it, train, craft better/other equipment.
2. In all missions you used only ME for elevators and you had to CE rev on this mission?
You grow overconfident. If all other missions were easy it dont have to mean this one will be easy. Go back to point 1.
3. Players not working as team?
Did you bothered to do a little briefing before rushing blindly into battle? Talk with your teammates, tell them what they should do, suggest something better. Other way may be doing missions with trusted friends/guildmates. If its failing even if you work together. Go back to point 1.
4. Thats the rank system about?
Its made to make players do missions in specific order. Missions are basically a guide or tutorial to Spiral Knights. And you should not complain about that you have to do all rank missions from beginning. They give prestige and Devs said that prestige in future will give you some benefits, so the more prestige you have the better.

yes, missons become harder from time to time, since you go deeper, but still...

Missions are no different from regular levels in terms of dificulty,, so dont blame it, you are just not prepared.

Sometimes it's not a matter

Sometimes it's not a matter of having weapons with damage boosts, but weapons that are fast enough or move you around enough that you can reliably dodge and not shield. Keep circling them and they can't hit you. If all else fails, just whip out your gun and circle from a safe distance. Something of interest is that you can influence Overtimers to use their melee attack more instead of the ranged attacks by staying right next to them and not knocking them too far back when you counter.

The Yesmen, the green little harmless guys, will instantly become Overtimers if any nearby Pit Bosses, the big blue guys, are defeated. Sometimes it's best to first focus on the regular Devilites, then the Yesmen, and then the Pit Bosses. Be careful, though, Pit Bosses become regular Devilites when only Bosses are left... meaning they can attack back.

Look into using a Flourish/Thorn or Rocket Hammer if you haven't already; the first attack of the former can be shield-cancelled extremely quickly, and the latter's second hit, the dash, can be very useful for dealing major damage to a nearby enemy or dodging when you'd normally be forced to block.

I see someone hasn't actually dealt with fiends before missions.

What sort of loadout do you

What sort of loadout do you have? For fiends, you want to use armor and shields with shadow defense (Skelly / Seraphic), and weapons that deal piercing damage (Flourish / Barbarous Thorn Blade / Dark Briar Barrage). It really makes a big difference. Try to keep moving, and shield immediately after you finish an attack. Sometimes it also helps to freeze them with a Shivermist Buster (or the 3 or 4 star equivalents).

If you already employ these strategies, you could always buy some health capsules and a vitapod at the start of the mission.

Now that I think of it, if you're dying, then yes, glad the mission system made you start as an apprentice, lol.
Don't you see the irony?

[Insert Title Here]

If you've got a 5 star gear, you should be able to deal with fiends. Heck, fiend levels were some of the first tier 1 levels I went through. How the heck did you get the crystal energy and heat to upgrade something to 5 star, yet not know how to fight fiends?

No seriously, I want to know.

Even if it was a credit card, he should've at least ran into SOME devilite levels when leveling up his equipment.

T1 fiends are a joke, and

T1 fiends are a joke, and nobody takes dodging seriously in t1.

I had the fortune of meeting players who were "gifted" the snarby set, and those who bought 5* gear. Mr. snarby gift there was complaining that shiving vana in p3 was the hardest job, and p2endgame here was rocking some sort of mismatched armour with a fov he bought for 300k cr.

He didn't need to heat it, if he bought it off ah.

That's devilites for you

There several reasons the 5-1 missions are difficult:

1) You probably don't have shadow resist armor or a piercing sword yet. Get these items and try again

2) One of the missions runs though a fiend strata. Fiends are harder than most enemies in the game, especially if you are running with a two-bar (orange) or lower connection. Are you getting hit even though you are shielding and/or moving out of the way? That's devilites + latency for you.

3) One of the missions runs though a fiend infested blast furnace. This is especially bad for you because the shadow resist gear that you likely have (skelly or seraphic gear) is vulnerable to fire, and getting lit on fire is almost as bad has getting hit without the right armor on. I don't know if OOO/Sega is trolling their playerbase with this level or not...

Go solo, use Radiant Sun

Go solo, use Radiant Sun Shards. if you hang back and spam the bomb, eventually they dance right into it. Your job is to back away slowly and dodge them, and then they die. Pretty simple really. I did all the missions solo, as a bomber, except for Roarmulus because I just hate that level, so I got help.
