Is there any difference between the two except more damage. I'm basically asking to know if the 5* ricochets more than the 4* or if its the same. If it does ricochet more times, is it noticably effective because right now my 3* doesn't exactly ricochet a lot.
Was just wondering if it were best to keep the Prisma driver at 4* for the mean-time while i upgrade other weapons or is there a large noticeable difference between the 4* and 5*

Nova is WAAAAAAY better than Prisma. Alchemers are pretty awful until they reach 5*. Prisma doesn't reliably bounce twice. Nova does. Its charge is also almost twice as powerful. The base damage on Nova is also a lot higher.
The alchemers are good and usable before they are 5*. But they do become much better once they are upgraded though- but unusable before? Naw. Kind of like using a strike needle on vanaduke rather than a blitz. You won't be hitting for an incredible amount of damage, but you won't be awful either.
Is there a difference in the range it has?
Yes but it is very small and only for the normal shots. I believe the charge has the same range.
Well, afaik the alchemer lines work like this:
2* = no ricoches, and the charge splits into two pellets after the initial hit.
3* = pellets ricoches once, and the charge splits into two pellets after the initial hit, however the pellets can now ricoche once as well.
4* = pellets ricoches twice, and the charge still splits into two pellets after the initial hit, however they can now ricoche twice.
5* = pellets ricoches twice, and the charge splits into four pellets after the initial hit, and they all ricoche up to two times.
To sum it up:
2* -> 3* normal shots and charge can deal twice as much damage thanks to ricoche.
3* -> 4* normal shots can bounce twice, and same with the charge.
4* -> 5* normal shots pretty much deal the same amount of damage, but the charge gets a signifigant boost in power.
Im not totally sure about this, but i think the 5* deals around 10-15% more damage then the 4* version etc.
