It seems like an interesting weapon, but I've heard that it sucks and doesn't really have much of a use. Is it a viable choice, o denizens of the forums?
Viability of Graviton Bomb?
They may have being literal.
It does suck... a bunch of enemies into one spot.
I like playing with Gravity Bomb users when I'm using the striker line; mobs them all up and keeps them from pounding on you while you use the charge attack.
Graviton is awesome. Whoever said it was bad was on drugs.
I wouldn't really say it's viable for endgame or partying.
The suction range is somewhat small, compared to the range of other bombs, and it lasts way too short, and additionally, after the vortex ends it causes an explosion repelling all monsters inside. This can completely screw with a party's organization by for example, throwing charging mechas or Alpha Wolvers at other players.
On solo, or if your party is experienced/organized enough, it can be good for mob control and will make things a bit easier, however, it generally slows down the speed of killing mobs quite a bit. In the end, I wouldn't say this little extra safety that requires good use of the bomb and an organized party is worth the speed lost.
I personally find Shivermist Buster to be much more useful for mob controlling.
My friends and I found the bomb quite useful in the Royal Jelly Palace, where it was exceedingly useful for partying.
I have the 4 star one... Graviton Bomb, and I honestly think it sucks. The range is just too small. I haven't tried Graviton Vortex yet but if the range is much bigger for that one then it could be viable.
Anybody know the range of Big Angry Bomb?
big angry bomb's range is less than nitronome's
and if you drop the graviton, then immediately drop a shivermist, the first blast sucks them in, the second freezes them, and the third one shatters the ice but doesn't push them out, so you can drop another graviton or shivermist right after
@Weirdguy thats a good combo...but really dont see why do all that just freeze and then ash it up....but i do like your idea as well.
I personally dont think this bomb is worth it....in the early stages I think its a fun bomb to use later on once you have all your gear done and just feel like messing around.
Yeah, I forgot about the silly Graviton / Shivermist lockdown trick.
Graviton is really, really good. Vortex is even better. Once it sucks in a bunch of people, sometimes the outward explosion doesn't push the enemies out at the fringe, and so you cluster them up together nice and good as a result. It rules VS jellies and is surprisingly good at crowd control of skeletons (so you can get someone's Divine Avenger charge hit in).
It gathers enemies into one spot for easy mobbing.
