Dropping the bomb

Just simple suggestion: if I'm carrying a fully charged bomb and take damage, I should place the bomb wherever I am immediately.

I find it over-frustrating to need to charge a bomb twice because in the chaos of battle a gremlin managed to nick me. I suggest this specifically for bombs because bombs require a full charge for usage, so taking light damage becomes far more deadly than with other weapon times. As well, getting hit and accidentally using a charged attack at the wrong time with a gun or sword could place you in a tough spot: you're often vulnerable right after such an attack. With bombs it'll help far more often than it hurts, since half the point of bombs is that you can run immediatly after dropping them.

As well, I feel like it makes sense from an in-universe point of view: charging a sword or gun is like preparing a difficult maneuver, it doesn't just 'go off' if you get hit in the face. By comparison, holding on to that thing you're holding above your head (As compared to dropping it where you stand) while taking a shot to the face is pretty impressive.

So, people of the forums: yes? No? Why?

I find it an excellent idea. Those blasted demo gremlins are able to do it whenever they're attacked. and drop their bombs

Seems to make sense. If you are carrying a potion overhead and are hit, it'll explode in place. The same rule could apply to bombs too.

I rather like the idea, and I'm not even all that into bombs. It's my understanding that bombs could use a bit more love anyway.

Well you never fully charged

Well you never fully charged the bomb and they interrupted you just like anyone else who tries charging up an attack and gets hit.

However if you hold a bomb when fully charged you don't drop it when hit, nor do any other charged attacks release when hit.

Potions drop on your head however.

What I'd rather like to see is being able to put down bombs without having to charge them, halving their explosion radius and damage, but so that you can just put them down quickly.

Though I guess this will turn into a bomberman like game if that happens.

I'm not sure I understand.

Rentago: I know that currently being hit while having a fully charged attack doesn't release it. My point was that with swords or guns, this could very possibly be a bad thing: using an attack like that at the wrong time leaves you very vulnerable, worse than if you just lost the attack. With a bomb though, you aren't likely to expose yourself by dropping it on taking damage.

Again, the major game-balance drive for this is that currently, charging is mandatory for bombs, but not for other weapons. As such, getting interrupted while using bombs is disproportionately penalizing, since a sword or gun could just start slashing / shooting if they're getting crowded. Damage is already a major balancing factor for bombs: in my experience to match the damage of other weapons, you need to be dropping bombs at every possible opportunity.
