They have a tendency to attack friendly targets, especially once at maximum growth.
Assuming pet recommendations was a joke.
On another note, Quicksilver slimes do more damage to their teammates than anyone else. One of the new missions (Vicious & Viscous, Stage 3) features many Mecha Knights in an Arena stage with Quicksilvers.
Put your shield up, and enjoy the show. The Quicksilvers annihilate their own.
