I feel that many of the new functions that missions bring into the game go against teamwork, and go against players working together on a whole by making soloing more prominent, and by decreasing the ability for players to unbind and sell gear, as well as by helping new players (this isn't bad!) in getting their gear ready.. What better way to help rectify that than to improve guilds?
Severage has done a wonderful job at summarizing all of the community ideas involved in making a guild update happen, and at keeping that thread up towards the top. This is also one of the ideas that keeps getting suggested over and over, but then so are pets and ce reformation.
Difference between Guild Hall Updates and Pets/CE Reformation:
- Guild Halls are currently, well, a practical waste of content besides a Guild Meeting Room..which isn't used too often. Guilds usually communicate via Forums due to timezone differences and such, or send a LOT of messages to all their members (*ahem* Bulletin Board pl0x *ahem*).
- CE Reformation and Pets on the other hand, are completely new, irrational ideas that would change the foundation of the game (Okay not pets, but CE Reformation would). SK is one of the only games that I've seen have an Energy-Based Economy that actually works rather well, where most are SO ANNOYING. CE Reformation would be stupid, especially for all those hundreds of people who have already bought CE. CE Reformation is just what comes to people's minds after about 1 hour of gameplay and they don't want to spend any money.
- Pets, though...are just a bad idea. I foresee crazy prices on them, even if they're just cosmetic. If they're not cosmetic, it's even worse of a problem...because Healing Pets is a no-go, Pets that die would be stupid, Pets that don't die could potentially be OP and/or a Handicap; and that's not to mention their terribad AI.
Seriously, out of the 3 uber-most-suggested things on this forum, only ONE MAKES SENSE! >:O
I just hope that the one day Nick randomly actually clicked on the Suggestions forums, he saw that Guild improvements were a good idea...
PS: Thanks for the honorable mention.
