To explain how the arcade works in comparision to the Missions, I spent time creating this highly informative thread.
The Missions are more lore based than the arcades. They are more focused to certain depths and levels. once you are done with the gate, you are done.
Arcade is more of a aftermath of the game like place. You can go to any level via the gate created, the tier clearance you have and if there are any parties at a certain depth. The levels are created via the mineral dumps. You also get things not included in Missions like the Danger Rooms, Scenario Rooms(originally the place for lore), Subtowns, Terminals, Random Mark levels and the prize wheel.
For people who have no idea about these things, let me explain.
Subtowns are places which have some NPCs, Brinks, Kozma and General Goods merchants(Vitapods, Vials, ect.) and set the bar between the tiers. D0/T1 has no subtowns but a lobby.
Terminals are the halfway mark between Stratas. You see a travelling merchant called basil who sells randomised recipies. Boost also still resides there. You can also change you weps freely with out a Aresnal Box.
Danger Rooms are mini one room Arenas that are difficult. They have high payout as well. They can only be found in Clockwork Tunnel like levels in the ARCADE ONLY.
Scenario Rooms are small rooms that have rare places like the Meteor seen in alien ooze, a project R statue, Wishing Wells, Mineral rooms with monsters and more!
The prize wheel is a end of depth reward that is a roullete that when it stops you get items like vial, capsules, hearts, Lockboxes and more! Only in Arcade.
Random Mark levels don't show what level it's one until you go down. They could be CKs, CTs or the exxclusive levels for arcade are the Graveyards and Treasure Vaults(Not the fourm!). Graveyard is a level that contains Zombies and the invicible Phantoms. Escape while you can! The other level is the TVs. Treasure Vaults are the opposite of the infested bonefest as they have alot of minerals and few enemies. The pickups stealing, greedy beasts that are scant in this place.
Now these are explained, can we keep this alive? Also, should I move this to New Recuits? And finally, can this be a sticky for info?
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Three Rings, please make a mission where a NPC explains what is the point of the Arcade via this Topic. And I will try to create a addition to the New Recuits on the wiki using this.

Other stuff, though, is true. But with the introduction of fsc missions, arcades are only worth doing for boss recipe runs and higher cr payouts for JK.
