So I have one thing to say, is there REALLY a point in saying "bump" if the automatic filter for peoples forums are "Last Post"? I have been thinking about this for a while and I dont really see a need in "bump"ing a post if the latest comment "bump"s the thread to the top anyways.
"Bump"ing?

So you want to bring up a thread but have nothing to say......
You just put bump as an excuse.

The first page is what people look the most. If someone wants his thread to have the best chance of being read, he'll try to keep it on the first page.
Its used a lot in the bazaar forums as a means of advertising a persons ware/shop.
In a way, draws more attention to the thread. For example, would you really click through 24 pages of general discussion to find something new, or rather just see what's being talked about right then and there on the first page.
In simpler terms, helps people see stuff they want faster, and allows for attention to important/talked about threads.
people are lazy, and like I said, if nothing got bumped to the top, probably at least 50% of what's here would not be seen. This thread in itself may have been ignored if it wasn't the first thing I saw on the page that grabbed my attention.
