I think that anyone else who had spent hundreds of thousands of cr on the 5* basics set like Azure guardian and Leviathan Blade recipes should have their crowns refunded due to the new missions that give it all for free. Just about a week ago, I obviously wasted over 100k cr on those recipes, and that [screwed] me over real good.
I say anyone who had already bought the Azure Guardian/Aegis/Other basics recipes................
They should know, it is very possible in most MMO's.
I wouldn't want EVERYONE to get refunded (major crown pump), but maybe anyone who bought those recipes the month before the new missions came out could get refunded?
That's what I was thinking. Anyone who bought it in the past month or so gets a refund. They have it all on their logs.
Serell, don't presume to know whether OOO tracks how your cr is spent. They track ce, but you can't know if they watch your cr. Or when you learned your recipe. They might be able to, but you don't know.
Actually, they do. But they don't do it manually. i'm pretty sure they have logs for absolutely everything.
I guess the fact that all mission recipes are MARKED AS BOUND TO YOU will make it easy job to do.
So we do next : " Bound to you recipes (not learned)" - Known recipes of same type (we dont care where you get them from) = Money which was spended on "Now free stuff"
The items I got from the missions are untradable, therefore I cannot sell them, and my others are already learned.
I'm not saying they don't. I'm saying you have no proof. Because according to you, they log our keystrokes too, as long as we are logged in.
Whether it is true or not, a several hundred cr increase in sellback value of recipe would be nice. But I wouldn't expect much. We had known there will be a hall of recipes coming, from the test servers at the very latest. Nobody expected recipes to be available from missions.
Cobalt set, including calibur, blaster, and blast bomb line. Shadow driver. Plasma capacitor. Did I miss any recipes? Of those recipes, cobalt armour performs subpar compared to other armour. Calibur is a decent line, blaster not preferred due to normal damage handgun. Blast bomb, and by extension, nitro, are not easy to learn to use effectively. That leaves 2 rather random, but extremely useful, 4* recipes.
Your problem is that other players received the recipes for free. What you need to consider is, you paid to get it earlier. You paid for the recipe, and obtained it before the other people can do the mission. Sure, you might get OOO to refund everyone that has learnt the recipe recently. But that hinges on one thing, whether OOO logs the recipes you've learned and the dates. They can flat out deny it, and you have no way of knowing. It isn't as if you can go into their codes and server and whatnot, and dig out the logs.
One last thing. Prior to the 2nd missions release, kosma's basic gear recipe stock was removed. Including the 5*. There was already a strong suspicion that the rest of the missions will follow pattern and hand out the 5* recipes. But they were put on featured auction anyways, after some players asked for access. And if I remember correctly, aegis recipes were bought out.
What I'm trying to say is, even though they were going to hand out recipes for free, they still gave players a chance to make said gear of recipes earlier, should they choose to.
-1
If you bought it already in past month, you bought it to have access to it SOONER than everyone else. You could have wait in case they will be added for free, but no, you wanted them NAO so you paid for the right to have them on the spot.
It would be nice. I spent thousands of crowns obtaining and learning most of the 2* - 4* cobalt/blaster/calibur/blast bomb recipes before the missions came out. Now the missions are out and I have a growing pile of useless recipes clogging up my arsenal. I did manage to vend a few off for like 5cr/recipe though.
But, such is life. The game changes. I actually like the idea behind obtaining equipment though the missions. Even if I did spend a lot of time getting that stuff the hard way, I had fun while doing it, and that makes it time well spent. Plus, I did not have my 4*blast bomb recipe when the missions came out, so the quest system actually helped me along on my quest to learn every recipe in the game. (=
I haven't even been able to craft my Azure Guardian set. I've been busy heating up my Mighty Cobalt. The armor and the Aegis are the only ones that I'm mad about. They're just sitting in my "Learned" recipes, doing nothing. And I really don't wanna just get 25cr from some stupid vendor. I bought them early because I knew I would be tempted by something else if I didn't spend. Im sure if you guys were in my situation, where you lost out on 75kcr, you'd be a bit pissed too.
i guess i can go shiver and blitz duty now for vana XD i can craft and transfer over a needle shot from my gunner to my main , make the strike with the free recipe, and blitz needle recipe is easily accessed by HOH ^~^
I made a temp cali some months ago. Personally, I don't care.
Also, the Azure Weps and set is the basic, vanilla, starter set. So what?
Plasma, however, is good as it's not included in the HoH. Odd though its placement. Shadow Driver, I dunno(Not a gun user).
You're acting like they cost any less than other 5* recipes. It's 25k per, and that's a lot wasted.
When was that?
If it was months back, it woulden't really matter.
Recently, maybe.
I purchased my recipes less than 2 weeks ago.
@Asuka Gonna be posting for my bf Posh since SK forums/Steam has some problems linking together..
Anyways what if someone bought a recipe thinking ''Hey, here's a great deal! There's no possible way that it'll get ANY CHEAPER! Might as well buy it now to use LATER'' That's what my bf did, now we're stuck with a learnt recipe and some untradable ones ;//
I can't even start comprehending what went through OOO's mind when they decided to put those recipes as featured auctions, KNOWING they were gonna give them for free later. HOW DO YOU DO THAT!? ;/
OOO person: Hey guys, let's put some recipes up on the AH for Basil price. It's to show the players how much we love them~
OOO other person: But wait where's the fun in that?
OOO person: Mmm... what if, we give them for free on the next mission update?! ;D
OOO other person: Brilliant!
ಠ_ಠ
I can understand them not refunding previous lower * recipes as they were probably bought months and months ago, they were either bought at the AH/users/Basil and 1-2-4-10k is not the end of the world but /this/, this is completely different. This is something they put up knowing that they were gonna be free anyways (it's as if they WANTED us to complain about it) and it's not small change either. 25kcr takes a while to get and if you bought a couple, it can get really expensive for the normal player.
@Neigh-Knocker I suggest adding a NICK? or DEVS?! at the end of the topic's title, it always seems to draw them in, to answer our questions..-sigh-
I'm surprised not more people are outraged at this, sure they're not the most popular gear but a lot of people bought those recipes on the Featured Auctions. I think that this outrage is been delayed as the FTP players haven't reached the 8-2 missions yet. Hopefully, OOO will refund us..
You pretty much said what I was thinking in a much more intelligent way =D I understand them not refunding ones that people bought months ago, but I just bought mine, and I'm pissed. At least make merchants pay more for recipes for god sake.
While such an action would be a generous act of kindness on the part of the company, I think it's wrong to suggest that a refund is mandatory.
This is the nature of business where prices can go up and down. Making something free is just the extreme of a price going down. Thing is that when you paid 25k cr per recipe, this meant you were happy to pay this price. If the recipes didn't appear free would you still complain?
Go buy something from a shop and see them cut the price later. Trying to demand a refund of the difference off them in the same manner would get you laughed out the store. Just because we're dealing with a MMO system doesn't change such an element.
Another example of woman logic.
I wasn't happy at all to pay 25kcr a piece. And also, you're acting like it's fair that they dropped the price completely and made it free as a reward of doing nothing. I wouldn't complain if it didn't drop, because I would have no reason. Sure, if they cut it by half price, I'd be fine. But I lost out on 75k, and for the average person, that's a decent ammount. I'm sure if you bought a $75,000 car, and the next week they were given away for free, I don't think you'd be happy about it.
I'd be fine with a price reduction, but they're basically HANDING OUT stuff to players for free. It's just pathetic.
@Neigh-Knocker: Calling Niichi's arguments "woman logic" shows how incredibly sexist you are. You have lost all sympathy and respect anyone could possibly have for you. Only Rush Limbaugh could have shown more contempt for women. If you don't like what happened, quit playing this game. Nobody is going to miss you now.
I'm surprised you wanted the basics in the first place. Nobody would recommend going that route. In fact, many people advise against it. You are going to have bigger regrets from sticking to the basic gear and you will only have yourself to blame.
I don't really see how it's unfair to be honest. Three Rings have decided that they could appeal to the fanbase better by giving out these recipes as mission rewards and probably see some marketing value in it (eg getting people to put energy into crafting them). It's a similar principle as doing a price cut, only they're expecting the sales to be generated elsewhere as a result of this item distribution.
I'm sure it stings and if I did happen to buy a $75,000 car that ended up free the next day I'd certainly be kicking myself about it, thinking about if I had waited that one more day. I just think there's a difference between asking the company to extend their generosity to players who already have these rewards and suggesting that such an act is outright required.
"Another example of woman logic."

Stereotypes always make me laugh. Especially when the one stereotyping is more ignorant than the victim of said stereotyping.
Erm...that's not to say that women generally have bad logic..perhaps stereotyping was the wrong word for that...

I think when you guys say ignorant, you mean arrogant, because ignorance has nothing to do with anything I've said.
Ignorance (or witlessness) is a state of being uninformed (lack of knowledge).[1] The word ignorant is an adjective describing a person in the state of being unaware and is often used as an insult.

Also, I didn't demand at all that it was outright required. I'm just seeing other peoples opinions on the topic. I didn't ask for all of these pointless comments, and honestly, I don't want these people swarming my posts just because they don't like me. if your comment has NOTHING to do with the subject (Ironskullkid,Alchemystic) then please jut don't come. it's a waste of your time, as well as mine.
Implying that all logic that happens to be created by a woman is a fallacy, is simply ignorant.
I suppose, if you want to be called arrogant too, you could be called that; I won't care to list the reasons, since you said you were yourself...
Don't say stupid things if you don't want stupid replies.

First, I never said I am myself. Second, I made a refferance to a meme. And even so, I didn't imply at all that all logic created by women is a fallacy, and I have no idea where you got that. if I were to imply that, I would have said something much more extreme.
Reference to meme? Apparently, iron didn't get it.
Thus: Meme not existant.
Atleast link the meme. Seemed real and it exactly like you were being sexist.
The GMs maynot take lightly to this.

No wonder people don't know this, iIT SUCKS!
The obvious solution is to increase the sellback price of recipes from their miniscule amount of cr (I think it's about 0.1 % of initial value) to something a bit more substantial, to offset the blow and make it seem like less of a kick to the teeth to people who already bought the recipes.
'Yeah you completed an epic run of missions, here's a dime for your trouble.'
Up the rewards a bit to balance things out (10% sellback on recipe price would be reasonable).
25 cr on a 5* recipe is just plain ridiculous...
FLAWLE̡͕̹̹̣̯̼̫̔̑̇̉̓̔ͫ͝SS LOGIC FROM A FEMALE
U MAD >.>̵͎͕̬̲̳͚̞̺ͣ̽͞
I gotta admit, that's a good solution. You get 50cr for a 5* recipe, which is extremely low. I think it's about 1/500 of the retail price.
Fine, 50 cr. :P Wasn't sure of the exact price, but I thought it was about .1% - it turns out it's .2%, woohoo.
At least upping the price will mean the recipes can go SOME way towards repaying the original cost.
I still think anyone who bought them in the past month or so should get a 70%-80% refund, 'cause it's kinda stupid to give them out for free. I haven't even been able to make my Azure yet, only my Aegis, and it was using the 25k cr recipe I bought a week and a half ago. not many people buy them, so it wouldn't be too much of a money pump for them. And It isn't like they're running out :p
...to be perfectly honest I did have the suspicion that the 5* Kozma recipes would end up as mission rewards, given that the other ones were already. :U
The 3* and 4* recipes were available as mission rewards in the previous update, and the 2* weapons/armour were also rewards in the update.
As a result, I suspect that they were using those particular recipes on the auction house as a crown sink... I wish you luck with trying to get your money back, but I doubt it'll happen unfortunately - it would pretty much defeat the point of what they were trying to achieve.
I'm just glad I didn't splurge out on the Strike Needle recipe along with my Shadow Driver and Plasma Capacitor...
I also doubt it's gonna happen, but why not try, right? =)
@Neigh : I kinda had sympathy for you... but after that sexist remark.. i dunno.
And neigh, even if you are not demanding for a refund, it kinda sounds like you are. you just need to be a little more clearer... and if you really want a refund, sexist remarks are going to get you no where...
EDIT : Oh and alchemyistic, this is not the place for your political views.
I'm glad someone else said that so I didn't have to (The @Alchemyistic part).
~Sev
I happened to run into Alchemystic in a game, just by chance, and eventually she said "you were being insulting". Now, I need someone to tell me if insulting can be used as an adjective, because I don't know.
1. Be sexist
2. Pick on someone's english in an international game
3. ???
4. Profit
I remember dat episode :D And either way, her whole post before was perfectly correct, so it isn't making fun of her race or anything of the sort.
I stopped caring after the 'Woman Logic' part.
Have I mentioned how much I despise stereotyping?
I didn't know it was a meme, it wasn't made obvious that it was, therefore: offence taken.
Yes, insulting can be used as an adjective. "I found that post insulting" for example, or "Sexist remarks? I find that insulting."
Note Iron said "In all your time in the Forums", so he wasn't referring to this thread alone.
FYI I'm running on having read the past 26 posts in 50 seconds, so excuse me if I'm not up-to-date on the current mood.
it's okay. I've only made 2 posts, so Iron is just being whiney. And thanks for the info! But this sentence just sounds wierd - "You were being insulting" does it not?
Can developers actually know who bought what?
May be imposssible, since everyone could just lie to get free money.
