If so, please tell me.
Is there any way to avoid getting status-ed by a Greaver?
1) Run into the right direction while there's still time before their first attack, so they all are close to the same tile when they reach you.
2) Don't stand diagonally to them.
3) Swing sword once, shield cancel, one step back.
4) repeat.
It gets complicated when devilites are also throwing @#%$ at you =)
And dont even try to shield up against them. Shield slows you down and lets you get surrounded by them. They are faster so before you will run they will get you again. Also you can get shieldlocked in status cloud.
+ what Ufana said.
And there's shock greavers in there, along with a [spoiler] that hits so hard you want to dodge. That [spoiler] can also shock you.
I had to revive three times, as there were more shock greavers coming out at later stages of the fight. It is completely stacked against me, it feels like OOO cheated me of my energy. I'm definitely not going back to this mission alone.
You can handle greavers if they are the only enemy type in the room, without getting hurt too much. Add anything else, while you're soloing, and you can say GG.
Thats why, when i suspect there will be fiends or greavers, i dont solo that lvl and wait for assistance.
Since i know that if i go solo, im doing it at my own responsibility and i cant blame anyone for dying alone, since the main point of SK is teamwork and teamplay.
Yeah, that mission cost me 630 CE in reviving. Ouch.
Hit them before they hit you. If you miss or are too late, then shield. If your shield breaks then you'll get status'ed.
Mission cost me only a 40CE rev first time solo.
But yeah, always stay on the offensive with Greavers
Evilnut, that mission is easily one of the best things in this game right now. That level deserves so much expansion it's ridiculous; it's prime material to become full-fledged T3 boss. I've done the mission enough to where I can not only solo it, but I can solo/no-damage that particular boss as well.
That being said, Greavers are easily interrupted by a sword swing as many have already said. They're also possible to be shield-bumped, but the sheer precision required for that isn't worth it. The best thing to do is swing your sword, shield cancel + shield bump it away, and then focus on the next greaver coming your way since they usually spawn in pairs or groups. Rinse and repeat until they're dead.
Another thing I personally do is if I know they're going to be in the level, I bring a BTB and keep it charged when going into rooms so I can kill them before they get a chance to kill me.
That's my first time in that level... so they caught me off guard. Plus I have the ping of a red dot, smacking greavers at the precise time after they swoop in but before attacking aren't always easy.
And once you are shocked it's a downward spiral. *BAM* [spoiler] attack to the face, bye bye health bar.
I would highly suggest you get a flourish/thorn blade. Simply swing once, shield cancel, move a bit, repeat. Trojans simply can't keep up if you're constantly moving, and devilites are apt to miss.
Well, what I do is give them a swing of my FF and that interrupts their attack. Doesnt work too well with multiple Greavers coming from different directions though.
