Supply and demand (or in this case the p2p does not want to buy ce - http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/46819#comment-306833 - at the moment, therefore there is not much supply but there is the same amount of demand (from the f2ps).
If it reaches 8,000 Crowns I'm selling most of my CE for crowns. Lol.
