Troll? That isn't trolling, that's just being disgusting, and not in an 'ew slimy' way.
First, you'd have lied. On all counts, you lied, both to the person who got your stuff, and to the GM's who tried to help.
Second, the person gets banned, and I highly doubt you'd made any effort to try and get their ban lifted.

I sensed the sarcasm but that's probably only because I know Spam in-game.
With some people's attitudes floating around these days, it's hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic or dead serious, especially if they're an absolute stranger to you.
Just know that Spam was being sarcastic and of course, wouldn't actually want or intend for this to happen to anyone. :)

Obviously the guy that got his stuff back didn't say he gave it away and changed his mind. I'd bet anything they said they got cheated by the other guy somehow.
Pretty sure the GMs aren't petty enough to ban you for refusing to give back a legitimate gift. I'd believe they'd forcibly take the stuff from you though, but no banning.
Make sure you tell your friend to go and annoy support to help them.
