Is 999 the most amount of minerals, you can have at one time?

I only ask this because I haven't looked at my mins in awhile, and luminite was at 999.

I've gone over 1,000 on minerals. 999 is not the max.

EDIT: Gwen. You had to ninja me, didn't you?

Hmm

I have 2k Dark Matter right now. Once you hit 5 digits (10k+) it starts to wrap funny, but you can certainly have more.

I've had 28000 gel drops.
Ask Njthug, he probably has around 100000 gels (I sold mine to him).

Well, some of the prestige

Well, some of the prestige missions require minerals, and higher-ranked prestige missions require more mats, so you might want to keep more on hand for that. Also, if you save enough, maybe you might be able to change a gate by yourself? Or, so you can give yourself a surprise when you are low on money and sell them all at once. :D

Minerals are a different

Minerals are a different story. I was trying to save a ton of luminite to counter the stupid dark matter trolls, but as far as mats, prestige missions NEVER ask for more than 10 or so of any mat. There's no reason to have 28k gel drops...

Simple, I like collecting.
Jeez..
There is no reason to have them, I simply did because I LIKED to have them.
I also bought them, I haven't played RJP 5000 times.

I wonder what variable was

I wonder what variable was used for the minerals value. Unsigned Integer? That's 65,535. Signed Integer is 32,767. That's the "max" value. If OOO used Double, it would be 2,147,483,647.

If I player ever managed to get beyond the maximum variable for Unsigned Integer, their value would become 0. Signed Integer would be −32,768. Double would be −2,147,483,648.

Can you have a negative value in game? I mean the game runs on Java and if your value goes over in a non-game Java program, it will do the above. I can't remember the exact word when a variable in a program goes beyond it's capacity. You know what I want to see, more then 32,767 of anything (except for crowns).

I wonder what variables Crowns use. Has to be Double.

Crown value can be negative.

Crown value can be negative. I happened once as a minor bug to my friend. He bough something, got item but his crowns were not taken. Then he went to ah, bough something and after some time server updated his crowns and he ended up with negative value.

It's probably a Java int

From the Java docs:

The int data type is a 32-bit signed two's complement integer. It has a minimum value of -2,147,483,648 and a maximum value of 2,147,483,647 (inclusive). For integral values, this data type is generally the default choice unless there is a reason (like the above) to choose something else. This data type will most likely be large enough for the numbers your program will use, but if you need a wider range of values, use long instead.

You don't want to know the range of values for a long.

Also these values are probably stored in a database somewhere so that is an additional constraint to consider.
