I understand that bombers get ctr max as recon without any bomber gear. Given how the common way for strikers to deal with bombers in T2 is to spam the hell out of kilowatt pulsars, I ask this question if the shock resist makes any much difference- Is quicksilver mail worth using over Brute jelly? Both are 3*, they offer the exact same amount of defense, and they differ only in resist, of which quicksilver has the more useful shock resist. But to farm the quicksilver set, which means spamming IMF, is going to be hard. IMF itself is hardly profitable, and I am planning on getting a third pulsar to make Snova line (currently a kilo for T2 LD, and a gigawatt) and also plan to get the quicksilver set to make into mercurial in the future which means a heck load of tokens. Furthermore I'll need an extra quicksilver mail if I am going to use in T2 LD which means more farming and also I'm thinking if I should get a second brute jelly mail to make rock jelly or just get brute jelly helm and craft rock jelly with those instead. To save myself time, I'm asking if the quicksilver mail's shock makes much difference compared to brute jelly's no shock res. Additional gear info, I wear a Fused demo helm for the elemental resist against pulsar spam, and the brute jelly protects me from the toothpicks.
T2 LD Bomber gear- is quicksilver mail worth using over brute jelly?
You can always save up and buy from AH (Pulsars are like 30k or something the last time I checked).
But Quicksilver also has that little walk speed boost that may help you outrun players who are either not striker or a striker without boost (I never used it so I don't know if the walk speed increase makes any difference).
Put the extra effort in for the Quicksilver. I wouldn't bother with the Supernova just yet, tbh.
It'll be worth it when you get past the Lightning Capacitor/Kilowatt Pulsar spam to lodge a sword in the face.
Edit: Walk speed bonus does make a difference, but that only comes into play with the 5* versions.
Well Owao, brute jelly works quite well in standing up to toothpicks, Antiguas, and various other stun and pierce based weapons.
But Quicksilver defends against pierce just as well, and has a resist to the bomber's bane, shock.
You'll do fine with brute jelly, but the shock resist will help in a lot more situations since stun doesn't affect bomb charge times at all.
~Qaz, the crazy shard spammer
Quicksilver has everything a bomber needs and has the same piercing resistence as the brute, along with shock.
The only quirk is the long time to get the tokens, but it shouldn't be too hard now that they put in the missions.
~Rank, the Noob in LD
The primary reason to get Quicksilver over Brute is to deal with Kilowatt Pulsar. I never found KP to be much of a problem, but you certainly have nothing to lose by getting Quicksilver. You almost never get stunned in T2 LD.
If you're a bomber, protecting yourself from ever getting in melee combat is the first thing you should learn, followed by dodging close range pulsar shots. Quicksilver is better for both of those.
If you really want to compound those problems together while searching for the better ld set, going to have to say jelly.
But, comparing the two, quicksilver is just much better. Existing in every game, so does the timeless mantra of grindingforbettergear appear here.
Effort=good gear
