Bid-only featured auctions should last as long as normal ones.

I've been psyched to get a particular rare accessory for a few days after losing the bid the last time it was featured. So when it reappeared Friday morning at the auction house I was pretty happy because I was going to be off for the weekend and have plenty of time to monitor it. If it had lasted as long a normal auction it would have finished about this time today, Sunday. Instead it only just went to long this morning, and if that "long" lasts longer than it is supposed to as the "very long" did I won't be able to watch the auction since I will have to go to work.

Now I realize that there's always next time, but that's just it. The love aura currently up is the only fresh face we've had in the featured auctions for at least a month now. Everyone knows that these rare accessories will go back up eventually and can save up for them in the interim if it's what they really want. Why must the auction itself last longer than normal ones?

shennynerd, good news bad news.

As of now (and i closely monitor all things featured auctions), Very long is the only "real" variable in the timed auctions. V.Long seems to last anywhere from 12 hours to 36-48 hours. Once they hit long, they follow the standard time-frame
long= 8 hours
med= 4 hours
short = 1 hour
v.short = approx 15 mins with a 5 min anti-sniping.

so long lasts 8 hours then it falls to medium for 4 hours then it drops to short for 1 hour then 15 mins of very short. (all these +/- 30 mins). So now that its down to long you can expect it to hit v.short 12 hours from the moment it went to long.

however, there have been a few reported cases of it going from medium to done in mysterious ways. Both pawn and Ezdidit have followed auctions that ended about 6-8 hours after going to long, rather than 12 hours. I cannot confirm this REALLY happened in either of these cases, and has never happened on an auction i was following. but they both swear by it, and both lost items they dearly wanted due to this anomaly, so there is certainly some credence to their claims, tho i'm not 100% sold XD

@Rommil: OOO don't even follow the standards of the time labels? That's just messed up.
