That gear is a good start, but you'll want to upgrade at least a few things. I recommend prioritizing an armor or helmet with elemental damage instead of piercing. I started T2 with Cobalt stuff just because I couldn't find the recipes for the armor I really wanted, but once there I found the demo recipes (I love bombs) and it's made a huge difference. The toughest enemies generally deal normal and elemental damage, not piercing.

I like the cutter because it's quick, but you'll want at least one weapon with a better knockback. The cutter was a nice complement to my blast bomb because it could quickly finish off bomb-damaged baddies, but the spur, which is still quick, has a better knockback and was more useful in areas where bombs weren't practical. I don't personally like slow swords, but you can get even better knockback from the heavier swords.

The superblaster is a good all-purpose gun, but the alchemers generally do a bit more damage per clip and can induce status effects. Just be careful you don't equip a firotech with oilers around.
