Stand in the middle. Put your shield up. When he comes near you and starts biting, hit the bell. When he turns yellow, whack on him.

sit int fornt of the belt until it decides to come closer.
Nothing much to do besides shielding/dodging random spikes.

The only msitake is trying to chase him, since you may draw his attention away from the bell and he will just bite you on a corner.

Ocean, that is very vague and not very helpful. Cobalt is piercing gear. If someone is asking how to defeat snarby, would you expect them to know every piercing gear ingame?

Hang on, hang on

I think what Ocean meant to say was to get a piercing WEAPON, such as a Flourish. As a beast, Snarby takes bonus damage to piercing attacks.

Another tip for u

Another idea. If u have multiple players in the party, have the weakest one in charge of the bell, and the the stronger ones in charge of attacking Snarby. It is a pretty useful technique.
However, It was easy for me even when i was tier 1. I had proto gear and i still solod Snarby.

And beware of the bugs

- Snarby can continue attacking if he's stunned in the middle of his attack animation.
- He can also be stunned when he's just starting to dig. He will continue moving underground, wasting most of the stun duration.
- Sometimes he's not stunned even when he's clearly in range of the bell.

@Evilnut I think I remember

@Evilnut I think I remember reading on the wiki that there is a randomized chance of Snarby not being stunned by the bell.

@Pocket: Like Demon said, it's best to stand in the middle in front of the bell, or a little off-center from it. When Snarby dives underground he aims for where you are when he went down, so you want to move a little out of the way to keep your shield from being weakened or broken by the spikes from the ground.

I bought a 2* flourish off of the AH, and then saved snarb tokens for a snarble barb to turn into a twisted snarble, since a heated 2* weap cannot be upgraded and I prefer the ranged attack of the snarble to the flourish's melee charge attack.

What do you mean a heated 2*

What do you mean a heated 2* weapon cant be upgraded? There's no heat requirement to go to 3*, you just need the 2* in any way, shape, or form.

be sure to stand near the

be sure to stand near the bell. Sometimes people will go chasing off after him, which sometimes keeps him away from the bell. It's preferable to have someone with a fast weapon do the bell to minimize missing the window of opportunity.

gravity and electron bombs will pull him into their center upon his surfacing. If you drop these bombs constantly by the bell, you may just pull him close enough to bell him at will instead of by luck. Haven't tried it...and frankly haven't fought snarb in a while.

also, there's sort of a habit of boss token weapons being the achilles heel of the boss or their level. Snarb sword/bomb are very effective in the WIldwoods, and the shield is about the best in the game with it's damage bonus. Same with JK and the Faust, Roar Twins and all that anti-shock gear, and Vanaduke and the Crest of Almire. Even Seerus and the Dark Retribution bomb. In short, kill SNarbolax 4 times, get the sword and kill him (and everything made of meat) many more times.
