Complainers not realizing what CE really is.

Every 24 hours, you get 100 Mist Energy! Thats 10 floors! 10 chances to make some crowns. When you run out, what do you do? You buy CE with crowns, of course. Many people do not understand that every 100 CE you buy is at least 25 cents. Everyday, n00bs complain that 100 CE (25 cents) is too much, even when they're buying it with virtual money you can gain in a few hours, easily. Then other people saying "Oh! lets have reusable mist tanks!" No. Three Rings made this game to make money, not to waste their time on something and not make any profit. If you're one of those people, just buy some CE with your own money if you're addicted, not complain that you can't play a game 24/7.
New players also need to know that when they grow up and get a job etc, complaining to the government and community isn't going to lower prices on anything. Here's a heads up on what economy is.
That is too much.
You only get 35 hours of gametime for each $10 you spend (based on 100 CE/hour).... not even counting upgrading your weapons/armor or unlocking any extras like trinkets/whatever. This is a RIDICULOUSLY low amount of CE for how much money you spend.
In most pay to play games you get to play a UNLIMITED amount of time for that price.... not 35 hours. This is a complete disaster and something must be done soon before most of the playerbase leaves (and they will).

Yeah, most games do let their players play without a time limit, but they restrict on how far you can get in their game. Three Rings doesn't.
35 hours of gameplay for $10 is a bargain. Movies are ~$10 for 2 hours. Bowling's more. Theme parks or fairs are atrociously expensive. Hell, a $15 DVD that you rewatch a dozen times is still not as good a deal. A book is $10 for 3-6 hours (depending on the book). Your perspective is horribly skewed.

Not for a video game. All Pay to Play online games are much less... as are any Free to play (with microtransaction). If you like paying 50$ for a movie when there's another for $10 down the road showing the exact same movie... so be it.
CE! IT'S PEOPLE! CE IS MADE OUT OF PEOPLE!
oh wait
anyway, they really should have made the default crown to ce cost hardset to a specific value that doesn't change with the market...kind of hard to make a cash sell now if you keep seeing the prices change
could be possible that they come from third world countries where c25 is a week of salary for them, but then they wouldnt have money for computer in the first place unless if it was stole.
but anyways most of the arguments are juz kids whining bout things because other people are better than them and they got jelly.
some ppl complained bout how certain players hoard large sums of ce, and suggested putting a cap on it. guess what, if that really happens, they'll juz spam ce in crafting whenever they get close to the cap and have no use for ce. problem remains, but those kids dun have a developed brain to figure that out.
there are significant design flaws in this game. once the majority reaches end game, the lack of content simply kills the game.
in early game release when people are desperate for 5*s, they buy ce and sell them for crowns.
but once half of the players reach full 5*, and not enough new players are joining, theres simply nothing to do with those crowns, and not enough people supplying more ce into the market, those who reached end game with their in game deep-pockets will pay 10k for 100 ce to keep playing, since theres no use for it anyways, and this game will be so newb unfriendly that new players wont even wanna get into this game because they dun even get to experience the game past their first mist tank, by that time the game dies.
while you can still play, enjoy it, once you get bored of this, switch to another game. its not like there arent any better games out tehre anyways.
this game wasnt intended to be played for years like other popular mmos, imo it should still be in beta phase due to the lack of content. it isnt a well balanced game either, don't argue on this with me, look at how 75% of the people uses the same end game gears, with maybe a slight variation on their off weapon slots or shield.

I do not understand your argument do you not know how to make money in this game, and you keep on brining up these great games which sound 20x's better than Spiral Knights since its a lot more cheaper to play, but yet your here arguing on the forums.
Some Help For You:
How to make money 101:
Selling materials - If you can sell materials that people desire well then my friend thats free crowns for you which you can transfer into Ce =). An, example:
If you go to T3 and do some runs *Read the wiki ahead of time check which monster drops Sunsilver, Shadow Steel, Mugs of Misery etc. (I could tell you, but what fun would that be to your learning experience) then find maps which have those monsters dropping the desired item your hunting for, and hope that you get lucky. After sell the material for a reasonable price take the crowns you get turn it into more Ce and go on another run. You still get to keep the crowns you gained from the run so basically your material drops pay for a few extra runs.
Uv Items - If you get a nice Uv on an item you know people will pay a great deal for why not train it up or jut put it up for auction? People will pay a good deal for a good item with a uv for example, Blast bomb with High Charge time would be worth 4k Ce+
Train Items - Train an item to 5* dont equip it to yourself and you can make easily 1.2k to 2kce matters on your buyers.
Try out the economy - if you have great economic skills can predict the flow of things etc. try it out, but do it at your own risk.
Sell Recipes - Well this isnt MAJOR cash, but still is something buy recipes for players sell them 3k to 5k more than its actual value =).
Hope that helps you out, and if you really dislike this game you should just play these other games your comparing SK to since obviously in your view they are better why waste your time here?

Yes for video games. Your standard RPG lasts somewhere between 20 and 80 hours, and costs $60. Subscription MMORPGs don't let you play at all if don't shell out cash, while Spiral Knights gives you an hour a day absolutely free. Numerous free-to-play online games have very limited playtime: Kingdom of Loathing and Utopia are examples.
Some free-to-play games allowing unlimited free playtime doesn't mean every game should.
NJ, don't bother explaining to Ziz. He's stuck on the impression that the CE market is more limited and more simple than it really is. He doesn't get how each element of Spiral Knights brings that into unlimited gameplay.

I know full well how to make crowns in this game. But crowns are only useful is someone is willing to sell you their CE for crowns. Don't lecture me on making money in video games... I've dominated the market in many games. You may be able to buy CE for crowns for now... but this will be a ongoing problem that will _never_ go away.
It will be like League of Legends matchmaking... there will _always_ be many threads on the forums complaining about it because it is broken and the dev's will not fix it.

Said by a true clueless fanboy. You better hope there's many more to follow you to support your playstyle... because you will get hit by a wall eventually and will not be able to play without a excessive amount of money you will have to pay. Either that or go down to playing a hour a day.

Okay lets use some logic. You know how to make crowns in this game right? Since you clearly say you can, so if you can always make crowns and people are going to sell Ce regardless I dont see the problem at all. Trust me the Ce market will not go dry there are plenty of players who have Ce and will buy more ce. When no one is selling Ce just ask me I will sell to you, but not for a price you like =).
I never played LOL since its not compatible for Mac, but in your view this is a broken system in my view this is one of the best system its your opinion and this is my opinion, but dont go blaming the dev's or even call other players names since its not needed. We wont agree with you and you wont agree with us thats about it.
Also, no one is forcing you to play more than a hour a day, three rings is not taking a gun to your head and telling you that YOU MUST PLAY for 8 Hours a day if they are well you have a good lawsuit. Its your CHOICE/Want/Desire to play for a longer time period and as we all know wants/desires are something you dont need in life you just wish to have it. I DESIRE A FERRARI, but you dont see me yelling at the Ferrari dealership why should I pay 200k+ for this car why can I not pay only 15k since thats how much a Honda costs.
Honestly, not playing more thna an hour or two a day is NOT necessarily a bad thing. When you have college, work, and a social life, playing a game that you cant play 24/7 isnt such a bad thing. If you want to play a lot, the mechanic is there for you, and you've got to put up with it... because tahts the way it is, for good or ill (in your opinion).

@ziz, "You only get 35 hours of gametime for each $10 you spend (based on 100 CE/hour)." This is completely false. So far i've spent no money on the game. With all 2 star equipment (well i got a 3 star bomb today, but even with 2 star bomb) i can start the day with only 100 energy, and play ALL DAY LONG. And in the process slowly get ahead in both crowns and energy without ever even selling a mat.
The idea that you only get 35 hours of play assumes that what? Make no crowns in your 35 hours of play? That you should be able to play without investing a single crown in energy?
Now the argument that it isn't fun if you aren't getting ahead, making new items, etc etc etc is a flawed argument. In any game you play (that you pay for or otherwise) you have to make the decision when playing balances between fun and not fun. But that being said, you can easily play this game unlimitedly as long as you have the energy for 1 run.
And i think $0.25 for 100 energy is really reasonable, even though i don't plan on paying it anytime soon. Because right now, i can accomplish what i want, i can play as much as i want, and i enjoy it. And when i don't enjoy it, i turn it off for a while, and i get free energy. Sweet deal.
