So i have my downloadable game version for like a year or more, but im new on steam.

Does anything i do in steam might change something in my account? i mean, can i use/bind my old account to steam?

do i have to worry about something like knights being reseted or so?

Yes, you can convert your account to Steam, but you will no longer be able to use that account on the downloaded version. I had to re-download it, just so Steam would recognise it. :U Also, you can only use Steam methods of payment, but have the option to Steam trade for stuff like TF2 Refined Metal or whatever. You may wish to have a non-Steam account as a result, since Steam servers have been known to crash at inopportune times, rendering it impossible to log on to your Steam SK account.
Your knight will not be reset when you convert to Steam, though.

not cool, as i dont play only at home. actually yesterday i installed SK in college... anyway, so what if i make a new account just for steam, it would share mist with the regular account (if both are free)?

not at all...

When you open up Spiral Knights in steam, and then log into your old account, a little box pops up and asks if you want to bind said account to your steam account. If you do, Steam Automatically logs you in when you start up Spiral Knights. If you dont, you just need to type in your password each time you start SK.

But even if you do bind the account to steam, you can still Log in via other methods, its just more round-about and annoying. You have to use the "Log in via Facebook" to log in via steam (if that makes any sense).

oh i got it. for who plays a lot in steam its easier to have one more game on it. log once, then play everything w/o care about passwords.

but if then i still can use the account normally by other metods i think its fine. ty
