In spiral knights currently, I'm a swordsman that primarily uses a nightblade and a snarble barb. I have a dusker coat, and going to get the cap. What should I upgrade to: skolver or vog cub set? Please explain. Also, I use a great defender, going to get the bristling buckler and its upgrades. What other weapons/ armor would you recommend?

first,the armor.depends on
first,the armor.depends on what you usually do.skolver has piercing defense while vog has elemental defense.vog is amazing for Firestorm Citadel while skolver is good for lockdown....and i dont know what else since i have no experience with it.as for shields,bristling buckler is a really good piercing shield and the sword bonus is nice.but with your current armor,your lacking in elemental and shadow defense.for an elemental shield,owlite is where its at.for shadow,skelly of course,but looking at ur current armor and gear,im guessing that you wont do much with fiends (and undead) until tier 3 which is where they show up often.and finally for your weapons.youve got a nightblade and a snarble barb,so youve got a shadow weapon and a piercing weapon,but you still need an elemental weapon.for an elemental weapon id suggest one of the elemental brandishes(fireburst,iceburst,and shockburst if you want to do all those lockdown games for it)or possibly an alchemer if you like guns.

then for an elemental sword,id suggest an elemental brandish or like demonicsothe said and save up jelly gems for a sealed sword to upgrade into an avenger.keep in mind that the avenger is a slow sword tho.

Combuster: fire status,
Combuster: fire status, enemies ride the entire wave, most damaging out of the elemental brandishes
Glacius: Freezes enemies, best for crowd control, least damaging
Voltedge: Shocks, best for clumping enemies together

You'll want an elemental weapon, like the brandish line, or save up and obtain an avenger after upgrading the sealed sword.
