Sticking to a small budget of 1,200 CE and 11,000 crowns at the start of the day, I decided I want to take a break heating up my weapons to make some cash.
I noticed I had a Silver Key inside my inventory, which I supposedily got from an Explorer's Pack I bought at least a month ago.
Testing my luck, I bought a Lockbox from the AH at around 9,500.
And in the middle of the trader's heaven of Haven 1 Town Square, I opened the lockbox to have a Shadow Key icon pop up over my knight.
I was simultaneously hit by 5 trade offers and several others asked me through /tell on how much I was going to sell it for.
I ended up instantly auctioning off the key to the highest bidder, which somehow made me a 160,000 crown profit. I'm not even kidding. People didn't even make time to check the AH prices.
Swaggering around with just under 175,000 crowns, I bumped my CE up to 1,500 and decided to do a mission, which happened to be the Jelly King one. I cleared it, deathless for the first time in the Jelly Palace with a random group of other conquestors within 30 minutes.
Still with over 50 mist energy left to spend for the day, I joined some Coliseum matches, and ended winning six straight in Free For All in Blast Network (the games only had less than six players, though...), an impressive feat for a person like me who has a toaster for an internet router and usually ends up in last place for being unable to run around the explosions.
And to top it all off, I was feeling generous and decided to go back to Tier 1 to start a random party with two new users trying out the game, along with a Vanguard-ranked knight who was just tagging along to try reaching the Crade and All acheivement.
We ended up progressing through the entire Tier 1 together, having to leave the new players behind at Moorcroft Manor, completely blown away at how quick they ended up one-third of the way done with the quest to the Core.
Since I had tons of crowns, I decided to reward the three for being such good team members and gave them all 20,000 crowns for free.
While the new users were busy spinning in circles with joy, the Vanguard player thanked me and invited me to join his guild of about fifty members. I readily accepted, and was immediately promoted to Officer.
Feeling on top of the world, I exited the Clockworks with several thousand crowns in profit made today, a couple hundred more CE, psuedo-leadership in an active guild, and about a dozen and a half Krogmo coins. Readying to log out, I stopped at Sullivan to see if I could purchase a recipe.
Did I mention I had been trying to make a Triglav since the first day its recipe appeared in the exchange list, and now I finally could? :D
I realize this is quite a long read for the average forum user, but its such a big day for me. I think all of these events just gave me the motivation to play Spiral Knights on Steam a lot more than TF2 for a while... Also, keep in mind I am not a very experienced player. I barely even have Tier 3 gear, save for a Fused Demo Suit armor and the Triglav I made.
I really appreciate those who took the time to read all of this. I just needed a way to let out all of the excitement. ^_^
Meanwhile I BSOD in the middle of an arena :D
