awwww comon dont ditch this... If you do I will haunt you down forever and ever in SK >:/
Spiral Knights Fashion Contest - 31st March!
I'm not gonna ditch it now, even if I'd want to but I'm disgusted by the attitude of some people. I cut down on a lot of things I was gonna do for the contest. It's just gonna be a formal, simple contest with strict rules and judgement.
I was gonna put them up after the contest but sure I'll edit the first post when I get home to check the exact donations people made.
Edit: I'm home and edited the first post.
I'm literally counting down the days to the contest! ^.^ I'm trying to make this one armor but its prerequisite is the slowest heater in the world D: oh well. It. will. be. done. on. time.... So yeah, just wanted to say: don't lose hope in the contest just because some people want to rain on your parade. It will always happen, whatever project you do, so just ignore it to the best of your abilities.
Haha, I'm glad to see someone that exited. I'm sure you'll make it. I could help you if you need it.
Yeah, but just seeing so much negativity really makes me sad and uninterested. Oh well, some things people do... not even worth pity.
Well, looks like, in 2 days I'll post some info set in stone. I wonder how many contestants will there be.
Won't be surprised if it's as crowded as last time was. :>
Anyway, time to ask questions again :p
I've read the rules but I wanna ask to make things clear. So let's say you've won the badass contest, you're not allowed to participate in another category. Why so actually =O?
Also, have you decided on the order of the category? Like what is last and what is first. Dumb questions I know, but I still wanna ask anyway.
The pre-selections sure will be, however the actual competition won't. Nothing I can do to make it less crowded, information spreads and people just butt in.
Because then someone would just get a costume for each category and win them all if they were good at it, wouldn't be too fair. Just to give chances to everybody.
Yeah, it's in the rules. Read carefully.
OH GAWD... what did I say that made you angry again? :<
"you know who you are, and all this negativity. It's really sad what you get the itch to do"
I am Ibubble. Seriously, I don't get why you're so angry just because I suggested you Ruby's guide. That guide was just one persons opinion. As a host of a event, one persons opinion shouldn't bring you down. If you're that type of person then you shouldn't even be running a event at the first place. Ditching this event isn't a good idea.
Challenge accepted.

@Avixi Niice, hope there's some good stuff in there :o
Fair enough :o Thanks for answering.
Looking forward to the contest. :>
Well I should edit the first post a bit..
You can deff count me in for this one :)
Though I have a question...
What if our costume doesnt really fall within those categories?
Looking forward to this!
Thanks,
Vexon
@Vexon
Awesome, hope to see you there!
Just go in general if you can't choose another one ^^
Do we have to clarify our category?
Or just enter and see which we fall under? :P
Because i think mine would be either general, or beautiful
i'll totally be there to spectate the pre-selections
have fun guys
@Vexon
You have to sit in one row, one category, and choose which by yourself. Or I can assign you one if you really can't choose, PM me for that.
@Soral
Nice, thanks for the donation!
I think I'll start making the list with which categories win which prizes for each place... just 5 days left
Just a bump as we get closer and closer to the competition date! :3
Thanks ^^
Hope we'll have many fancy contestants.
Oh man I discovered a pretty nice outfit today. I just gotta find a fancy scarf to compelte it.
I edited the first post a bit, the main change is that I'll be the only judge now, thus judging as strictly and fairly as possible. ^^ The guild you'll be invited in will be Event Makers now.
Just 3 hours and a half left!
Oh also, if I'm late by 2-3 minutes, don't fret, I just might have not finished dinner.
Please re-read the rules so there will be no confusion, since some things have changed. Most importantly, there WILL be a second judge, Desuchan.
Well I for sure will be there unless me with my dam forgetful memory has to go do something...
We just gotta keep trolls out.
Awesome. ^^
Lol no worries, since the actual competition will be in the guildhall. Preselections are vulnerable, of course.
Heya, Tersa. I was wondering if you were planning on holding another one of these, since I *just* missed this one. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would like another contest, and if you want any help setting it up, I'd be glad to aid you. If you'd hold another one soon, I'll start the donations with a Heavy Binocular Visor.
Regards,

It all went pretty well!
Except pre-selections chaos, which I expected
And some hindquarters-hurt people, because apparently the prizes were too small (from the community, to the community, not to mention how this was for fun not profit), or that their outfit got a lower score.
However, no even can go without these. ^^
And, yes, I WILL host another one! Sometime in summer, most likely. ^^

If you missed the contest, winners are there. Enjoy :D
What a waste of time your little fashion show was... one of the winners actually had a spiked mohawk on a wolver cap. This accessory obviously doesn't fit considering it floats in mid air above the helmet. That alone should show you what little the opinions of the judges mean. The entire thing should have taken 20 minutes, instead it lasted over 2 hours. This was mainly because they didn't want to let their friends down so they ended each contest in a 'tie'. Several of the winners were those who donated prizes. And btw, I didn't even stand in the line to join, yet got an invite to participate anyway, so i thought i would see what a train wreck looks like. I was not disapointed.
t was definitely NOT the worst event ever and in comparison to what I saw of the first one, this was infinitely better. I have to give props to Tersakoff for trying to run a whole event alone, especially when he knew he was gonna get flamed by sore losers- I think we all know who I mean- but I guess you really can't run an event without a little dissension.
The costumes were great and the winners were for the most part very deserving. The only costume that was a little iffy was the aforementioned wolver cap with a spike mohawk, however it's not my decision to decide who wins is it :P.
The prizes weren't the most stellar things ever, but again, one person can't donate a treasure trove and I believe the best of the donated things went to the first place winners. I was surprised, as a second place winner myself, to get as much as I did.
The one moment that the event began to crumble was the very end when the second judge, Ters's girlfriend, left and Ters was left to be indecisive alone. That was bad, but we could've done without all the flaming that went on then.
All in all, pretty standard for an event and I think that with more staff it could've gone brilliantly.
I definitely had fun at the event. I do share the sentiment that it may have dragged on for a little too long--that aside, I think it went well overall.
@Greatscot
And this is an example of a person who did not read the original post, came here for money, and is hindquarters-hurt!
Duke had matched that mohawk with something else on his costume, and we didn't judge from inspect only. ;)
The ties were purely because of equal scores, and there were only 2 winners who donated. Maybe just 1. Not sure.
@Jarrend
Yes, it was a little longer than I planned, but I don't wish to cut down on the time too much next time. But I will make sure it will last less than two hours. xD
@Redfevrier
Of course you can't lol.
True, the mohawk did not fit well on the wolver cap, however, overall, the costume was pretty good! It got a score of 9 though, if I remember well.
Yeah, something we didn't expect and couldn't control got in the way and she had to leave, and some people didn't take that too well. :o However, if this makes you guys feel better, she DID give me her opinion on who to choose as the first prize winner.
For the next contest, I will get a third judge, but no more than that, since too many judges can cause chaos, as we've learned in the other event. And we will avoid ties as well.
As stated in the first post, this is NOT a source of profit. However, the biggest prizes went to the finals. Rapael-Sabrewing received 750 ce, 40k cr, Tails Tails and a CTR med flourish. I decided to give the two big winners much more than I gave the others because being the best of best, they'd deserve it most.
@Xombie

@Michael
Still not the costume you said.
@Treize
Uh-oh, anybody can join and has a chance to win.
@Zephyrgon
Cool
@Ibubble
:)
:')
I wish I thought twice and remembered how internally frutsrated, and seeking to poke the eyes of everybody who comes with an idea for the community, the forums were.
Oh well.
I was acutally pretty eager to do this and see all the costumes people would come up with and reward them, but I'm pretty much about to change my mind and ditch this everything.
I can't stand this damn ignorance and need to shoo everybody away some people have.
I'm sick of you, you know who you are, and all this negativity. It's really sad what you get the itch to do.
