To new recruits, until you get to the mission where you go into Gloaming Wildwoods, you might not realise that there are bosses in this game. This is a guide on how I kill them.

Snarbolax (Tier 1)

There is only 1 stage.

Get a gun that isn't autogun before you start Gloaming Wildwoods. When you get to the battle, hold down the shield button and DON'T LET GO. When Snarbolax gets close to the bell, take your gun out, release the shield, and shoot the bell. Then beat the hell out of Snarbolax while he's stunned. Repeat. Don't get scared at the Defense up, it just means he's ivunerable again.

Jelly King (Royal Jelly) (Tier 2)

There are 2 stages. There are 2 Methods of killing him.

STAGE 1

The Royal Jelly and his army appear, and attack you. The Jelly King can only do a spin or summon Jelly Cubes or summon more Polyps. The Polyps can summon Royal minis and thorns which can heal the Jelly King when combined.

STAGE 2

The Royal Jelly can now get ivunerable and spin around. Not much difference.

KILL FEST (If you can deal lots of damage easily)

The Jelly King and his minions of Jelly Cubes, Royal Polyps and Royal minis appear. Ignore all the minions, and go straight to the Jelly King and beat the hell out of him. Use Curse, Poison and Fire vials to help you with this.

The above method is risky for newbies and can easily tear hell out of your party if this goes wrong. This is the most popular method.

STAVATION (If Kill fest won't work)

There are limited number of Polyp spawns. If you kill all the Polyps, then all the Royal Minis, you can starve the Jelly King to death as he can't heal the damage you give him.

The above method is easier, and a better option for a less experienced team, but takes longer.

Roarmulus Twins (Tier 2)

There are 3 stages, but as there are 2 of them, they don't allign and come as 5. I will say Roarmulus 1 always gets the damage first. Roarmulus 2 is the other one. Be sure to know who the switcher is BEFORE you start.

STAGE 1

After you press the button, Roarmulus 1 and 2 rise from below. They start to shoot missiles at you. Break the blocks above and below the button. Let the switcher get to a switch. As a switcher, keep the switch turned on one colour, and leave it until there are no colliding missiles. Let them fire thier missiles, then hit the switch just before Roarmulus 2's missiles hit the wall. Make sure your Roarmulus 2 is the Roarmulus AWAY from the risen wall. Roarmulus 1 should fall when hit by Roarmulus 2's missiles, where you pound on him. Repeat.

STAGE 1.5

This is the stage that no matter how good you are at switching, or how good you are at the game, you can NEVER stop this stage taking long. Roarmulus 1, whom you dealt heavy damage to last stage is now moving up and down, and is making rockets rain from above. Wait for him to align in the middle, have the wall away from Roarmulus 1 up, and do what you did for stage 1. The reason it takes so long is because Roarmulus 1 NEVER aligns.

STAGE 2

Both are raining missiles, not ivunerable and moving now. From now on, it relies on how good the switcher is. The switcher should have the wall away from Roarmulus 2 up, let Roarmulus 2's missiles though, and 50% of the time Roarmulus 1 should hit Roarmulus 2's missiles, then you damage him.

STAGE 2.5

Roarmulus 1 is still doing as in stage 1.5, but is now firing lasers aswell. Do the same thing as stage 2.

STAGE 3

No ivunerablity, all raining missiles and lasers and a lot of chaos. The same as stage 2, but remember, if you hit a Roarmulus while he's lasering, he'll fall directly AFTER the laser. Damage one to finish.

HOW TO FAIL

There are 2 main ways to fail.

1. Messing up a switcher's switches. Doing this will make it impossible to win.

2. Letting scuttlebots mess up a switcher. This is just as bad as the first one.

Lord Vanaduke (Tier 3)

There are 5 stages.

STAGE 1

It's Vanaduke! Just do damage on him.

STAGE 2

There are projectiles everywhere, and Vanaduke's mask is floating everywhere.Get some water and throw it on his moving mask. Pound on him while it's immobilised. Repeat.

STAGE 3

Vanaduke summons Slag Walkers, and is orbited by 4 balls of fire! Use the water to extinguish the fire. Beware of the Shadow Fire on the floor.

STAGE 4

The same as stage 2, but more hell and projectiles.

STAGE5

No mask. It's faceless Vanaduke, and orbited by 8 balls of fire. also has 2 Slage Guards gauding him.

I hoped this has help.

Twins, Stage 1.5

Being the more rare type of person who does many Twin Runs rather than Jelly, I have noticed that Twin1 in your example can be lured to the middle lane.
I usually move to the middle lane, mostly on the right, to "lure" the moving twin. My theory is not conclusive however I have noticed there is usually a higher probability the twin will be "lured" if you decide to fool around in the middle. I can assure you my experience with twin runs is good, I have all rewards. Yet I'm still not completely sure about this theory. I hope this post doesn't cause any inconvenience, just wanted to put an idea out there, Thanks :)

@Chamberjr

I disagree with your Stage 1.5 paragraph.

@Nickrome I wish your theory was right, but its not. Although, you can cruise through to phase 3 100% of the time with the above video.

As for Royal Jelly...he has three phases. In his first phase the Polyps do not respawn. In the second phase the polyps respawn slowly and in the third phase they respawn quickly. Each time Royal Jelly transitions to another phase, he clears his status and respawns his polyps. His last phase involves the boss spinning 8 times while invulnerable in a counter-clockwise path then being vulnerable for about 10 seconds before repeating his spin.

.....

IMO... this is rather shallow...

There are so many small details you skip over and small tips that end up being incredibly important.

For example, Snarby has 3 stages actually, they just aren't that different. The only difference is his 3 bite attack (that I have seen). In stage 1, they are three bites in a row. Stage 2, he starts turning slightly per bite. Stage 3, he is immune to the bell during some parts of his chain bite attack, in addition to turning after each bite (Something along that, I may be wrong but I havent done Snarby in a while).

Your description of Roarmulus confused me a bit. They have 3 stages each, and a Twin cannot harm the other if the other is in a higher stage. Also, you didn't mention the Scuttlebots.

You didn't mention anything about Blitz, Shiver, or guns on Vanaduke. Only coordinated, highly experienced, groups can do pure sword runs on Vanaduke. The fountains on the sides that normally are used to put out Shadow Fire can be used to put you yourself out if you are on fire (Throw the ball of water at the wall, point blank). The fireballs respawn as well...

Above all else, you never mentioned the boss weaknesses. Snarby is weak to pierce, JK is weak to Shadow, RT is weak to Elemental, Vana body is weak to pierce, and Vana's Mask is resistant to all damage except normal.

btw u forgot shadow lair

btw u forgot shadow lair bosses. there r 4 bosses in shadow lairs (which u need a shadow key to access) and well u pretty much need full 5 star stuff and lotsa skill to take on one of them. there is Rabid Snarbolax, Ice Queen, Red Roarmulus Twins, and (i think) Dark Vanaduke. but i guess newbies dont need to know this stuff yet anyway :P
