Cant see why not to have shadow defense. Pierce is something else, but logically speaking shadow can make sense.

Uh, bombers are more
Uh, bombers are more vulnerable to damage than gunners and not because of defenses, its all due bomb mechanics. We never get to shield because the only attacks we have require charging up a bomb and dropping it, get hit while charging and the timer drops a little. Not to mention that bomb holding/putting off animation slows you down to almost crawl speed.
Bombers aren't too vulnerable to attacks in most cases but yeah, shadow defense would not hurt especially against those kats & howlizers
