Something Simple.
I'm one of those people who hate seeing extra CE/Stuff that I won't be able to use. (I like to use CE first for crafting.) It bothers me so much seeing like 14CE that I will probably never use.
Checkboxes could also work.
Option to use Mist or Crystal Energy first

Guys, this can get very annoying. I hate seeing 4 CE just lying there....it haunts me >.<
I don't like using mist to craft, i want to use mist for the CW and missions and reviving, and CE for crafting. It's hard to describe, i just hate having 1 or 4 or 7 worthless CE.... gets on my nerves... sooo much >.<
Oh and no, I'm not going to give it to you -_-

Alternative: Shout that you're selling 4 CE in Haven. You're guaranteed to have at least 1 guy who just needs 4 more CE to craft.

So you want to waist a non-rechargable resourse because if you use the one that costs you absolutly nothing for how it looks? That's 280 cr waisted (assuming a 7k-100 cr-ce exchange rate).
If you truly don't like it create an alt and send all you leftovers to them and now you don't see it anymore.

I normally do any crafting I
I normally do any crafting I want to do AFTER my runs (I generally play till I run out of Mist) as that way I can make sure CE alone gets used for crafting (but if I want to, for example, go chill with Basil at D23 after doing a JK run I'm not afraid to spend just 10 CE for an extra lift if I run short somehow), and I can earn some crowns to buy extra CE or pay for the crafting by the time I'm done too.
But if I want to grab a weapon FIRST and then heat it on a run, I have to pay with Mist and that just goes against my thinking that Mist==playtime and CE==extra stuff/crafting
I should probably stop being so silly. The two are sort of meant to be intertwined. But I would love it if I could be given a choice to use CE alone for crafting and not Mist

Just feed the CE black market with your spare CE.
For instance, if the market rates are at 7k cr for 100, sell someone 10 CE for 800cr.
Surely you'll find an OCD lying around, or someone who just needs 10 energy more to craft something but he can't be bothered to wait.
Also, not really a big problem - eventually I end up clearing surplus CE due to revives and "one more level just for the heck of it".
Not like that 7 CE will kill you if you don't use it or something; hey, at the prices these days I'll take any CE I can get.
Yeah, I'll always have like 4 mist energy left but 200 ce and then when I alchemize something I have 4 ce left. Its annoying. What the heck am I gonna do with 4 ce?
