I noticed something with level elevators. Maybe it's a stupid thought.

Let's say you're going through the Jelly Palace, right?
Well, what if you were to do it in reverse? Why isn't that possible?

I mean, if you beat the Jelly King and get ready to head up to Haven, you can just shuttle up out of the Clockworks. Why can't you just go from Haven to that same point after the Jelly King like most elevators can?

I never really saw any game-defined logic behind why this happens, and I'm not saying that we should be able to go wherever place we want in a level, but why hasn't anybody looked into something that prevents it from happening?

Elevators were programmed to work on a specific way. Any attempt to hack them and make them normal has failed.

What we should really be

What we should really be asking ourselves is why does pressing down in Operation: Crimson Hammer make the elevator go up?

It's by design

The elevators have a control panel at one end of them and not the other. The elevator moves away from the control panel when in use. They seem to be designed that way. Why can an elevator only go down and not up? Because the button to make the elevator go back up is stuck at the top of the elevator shaft, that's why.

Same question goes to the NPC's.

So, why do the NPC knights always end up with horrid equipment? Because apparently the Spiral Order can't figure out anything good to give them.

This can easily explain why (Alongside with other explainations for the elevators) no one has been able to crack the elevator to make it work properly.

NPC knights don't have horrid equipment.

It's costume armour, of course!

Okay, their weapons and shields kind of suck, true.

I want their armor. The AI has invincibility with it, and the closest to death they have is a few seconds of knockdown.
GIVE ME TROJAN WARDEN ARMOR TOO!
@OP
One way ticket? It takes more energy to stretch the spring than to let it loose? I wonder if I just unscrewed the Elevator and it would take me to the Core...

Hmmm

I'm guessing because of how the Clockworks are organized, that to get to the elevator that goes to the Jelly King, you need to go along a specific route of elevators to get there. By that I mean that the elevators aren't all connected, rather they only go so many floors down, and end. So then you have to go to another elevator on a floor to continue downward.

For example, the only way to get to the Royal Jelly is to take a specific route to get there, which goes through two other floors besides the boss room. Elevator A (the one you enter on) isn't connected to Elevator C (to the Royal Jelly boss room), and the only way to get from elevator A to elevator C is to take elevator B on floor A down to floor B, and from there going to elevator C on floor B.

If that makes any sense.
