I had bought my graviton charge back in november, but as of recent, some people have suggested me getting Electron.

Should I buy Electron?

What to do with my Graviton?

I don't play LD much. How would this affect me getting the recipies?

electron

also electron got low(?) shock chance which can help with vortex spaming (so the monsters dont all fly around at the end explosion).

Rawr's misguided post is missing the point of electron over gravi. Gravi lacks the shock that electron has, which keeps enemies bunched together. This is preferable over scattering enemies every which way, even spreading them more apart than they were before being vortexed.

Hmm

I have both and I always use EV. But there is hardly any difference, the EV just edges out the Graviton due to the shock. The damage dealt by the blast isn't enough to make a difference for damage type one way or another, especially if the goal is to pair the vortex with a brandish attack.

Since you already have graviton and don't play in the Coliseum then might as well continue pursuing that direction.

Hmm pt. 2

You can avoid the fling by sucking in a sufficient number of monsters, with or without shock. The threshold is quite low. Actually, if there are not enough monsters to suck into the vortex it is usually optimal to skip it and go straight for the sword attack.

Usually a single vortex + properly placed branish charge will result in everything being dead. So flinging still isn't an issue.
