The armor lines make no sense.

Wolvers aren't resistant to freeze. Chromalisks don't have it in for slimes, old Snarby isn't resistant to shadow damage as far as I can tell, and Valkyrie Mail isn't actually made from Valkyries. Mostly it's about either game balance (the easy answer) or the armor names are misnomers and their designs are more complex (the overly complicated answer). Also, rabbits are superior.

@Xplad

Don't forget, you can freeze them while they are standing on a vent spewing flames.

Actually...

Polyps are Resistant to Sleep. I've tried throwing Sleep Vials at them, but they never go to Sleep.

Beasts are weak to peircing

Beasts are weak to peircing yet wolver and probably chromalisk lines protect against it.
That never made any sense to me.

"Chromalisks don't have it in for slimes"

Good thing, too. They'd get totally owned. Maybe jelly gear should get a bonus vs beast instead.

Wolvers deal piercing, when

Wolvers deal piercing, when weak to it, and then that armor line gives protection for it.

Whaat? I guess it all makes sense up to the armor resistence

The Chroma suit's description

The Chroma suit's description SAYS the Chromalisks have a taste for Flan. So the bonus to Slime wasn't much of a surprise to me.

Also Wolver line is resistant to piercing and gives sword bonus most likely because:

1. Animal skin tends to change properties when you tan it into leather.
2. Some sort of manifestation of animistic beliefs that charms/objects made from animals allow you to take on traits of said animals
3. OOO clearly wants to draw in the huge "furry" and "trenchcoat-wearing-jerks" audiences.
