So, recently, I've gotten my Heater Shield & Loving it. One thing that kinda caught me off Guard was the Shield-Bump Strength. It's exactly the Same as my Ironmight & Volcanic Plate Shields. I was able to Bump Lumbers with exactly the same Strength. Weren't the Plate Line Suppose to Handle that or do all 5* Shields do that? I don't have another 5* Shield to Compare with, so I would like to know.
Heater Shield: Same Shield-Bump Strength as the Plate Line?
i wouldnt know either ... because XD .. i also have a volc plate, but im gettig a grey owlite on my gunner alt, im curious to see the difference (if any)
I thought all 5* shields bumped the same...
I have BTS, Crest of Almire, and Grey Owlite so they are all similar shields. I don't know if Ironmight or Heavy Plate Shield bump more.
I've always thought/observed that the only difference in bumping abilities for the same level shields comes from my shield breaking before I can execute a proper bump. So, a BTS doesn't bump zombies/trojans great, because you'll typically break your shield before actually bumping them.
I've Heard that only the Plate Line can Bump Lumbers/Trojans. But my Heater Shield can Bump them, too, which is Strange, because when I had a Mighty Defender, it barely Nudged them.
I believe the bump is based on the health of the shield
well, mighty defender is 4*, heater shield is 5*.
I KNOW that MD is 4* & HS is 5*, but I thought that the plate Line was supposed to be the only Shields that Could Bump Lumbers/Trojans. Like I said, I don't have another 5* Shield that isn't a Plate Shield to Compare with.
I thought Changing from a Plate Shield to another Shield Line would be Awkward to Adjust with the Reduced Knockback, but the Heater Shield was Able to Bump Lumbers without Effort, like the Plate Line.
So, 5* Shields ALL Bump the same, Plate or Not?
EDIT:@Impostowill Is that True? So by that Logic, Omega Shell has the Largest Bump of all Shields?
I remember people saying that plate shields will out bump the BTS, but I have never tested it. Also, it seems that testing it would be fairly subjective unless there was a huge difference. Somebody needs to try it out in Unknown Passage or maybe the Gauntlent mission so both shields can be used without waiting for the level to change (& tested at the same depth).
If I ever get around to heating up my Ancient Plate Shield I'll test if vs my BTS.
Sorry if this is Annoying you, but I still don't have an Answer.
I have an ancient plate shield, and I keep forgetting to try and bump trojans with my other shields. I never think about it, and I kill them in 1 shot with my FoV (and maybe followed up by a few swings with 4 party members)
I know I can bump lumbers a good distance with any of my 5* shields.
Since I know you are going to bump this I will preemptively post my preliminary findings.
BTS can bump trojans a short distance, enough to get out of any corner or tight area. I haven't heated my ancient plate shield, but it appears to bump them the same distance from levels 1-5.
BTS can bump lumbers a good distance, I haven't tried my ancient plate shield. From memory, my BTS bumps them the same distance as my owlite and CoA but I could be totally wrong.
Ancient plate shield did SEEM to bump zombies farther but I haven't really tried to bump zombies.
when I upgraded my piercing low BTS to my normal max BTS, I noticed a definite increase in bump distance. it kicks trojans far enough to get you out of the corner and then some.
Shield bump strength is based on STAR level I believe. Compare these shields:
Omega Shell
Any 5* Plate shield (including Ancient)
Any other 5* shield (BTS, Grey owl, CoA etc)
If I remember their shield bump stength is the same, although I have no base evidence for Shell because in truth I've never seen anyone use it in the clockworks before.
@ #4 zomg someone doesn't know how to shield bump enemies (No seriously next time stand right next to them and SHIELD so they get bumped, it doesn't just occur when you get attacked rofl. I can shield bump zomgies with my swiftstrike in FSC anyhow~)
And here I thought the Plate Line was Unique from all the Specific Resistant & Bonus Giving Shields with its Major Shield Bump Strenght.
Would be interesting if shields did have a bump strength modifier, though.
The heater shield is naturally very warm, and no one wants to catch on fire because of a shield. How embarrassing.
