Hey guys,
I'm new to Spiral Knights and have recently unlocked the prestige (daily) missions. I started doing the easier ones but realized that I would gain prestige but not rank, nor would I gain any more blue in the rank leveling bar (the one with all the blue squares).

I wasn't really paying attention before, but earlier I thought I received rank xp. for completing prestige missions, but that doesn't anymore.

So....whats the difference in prestige and ranked missions and what does prestige do exactly? ...actually, what is prestige...? Whats the point of doing prestige missions if it doesn't give you anything?

Rank depends on how many rank missions you have done.

There's no point in doing prestige missions.

Maybe if one day you wake up and realise that you would REALLY like to fight certain monsters (for example Beasts, because you're in the process of heating up lots of piercing weapons/armours) and there's really no Beasts stratum in any Gate and you are bored of Beast pre-made and repetitive rank missions and then suddenly you noticed there are Beast themed prestige mission you may give it a try.

If you search the wiki, it tells you that prestige is useless now but will do something in the future. My friend who does beta testing confirmed that, but didn't tell me what it did.

2. If you mean testing server there were no rewards for prestige either.

That's not what I meant

I kind of got it wrong. I meant the thing were people test things before they come out. Becasue he tested rigadoon before it came out, tested the missions before they came out, more stuffs.

I don't know if it was but he definately does something special for Three Rings because they cave him 1000ce and a fearless rigadoon and lots of oter stuff for free when he joined.

Prestige is just something to

Prestige is just something to boast about. I guess they're both things to boast about. Having a lot of prestige would net you something sepcial from SK HQ one day when they decide to do something about it.

I don't know if his dad does, but when he told me about missions, he explained it perfectly the day before the missions came out. when I went on the next day, what he said was actually true, and his acount wasn't online for ages. He definately doesn't have another account.

Missions were tested on Preview/Tester server. But still there were no rewards for prestige during mission preview.

Prestige missions are not overly difficult or challenging. I see no reason for bragging rights.
