I'm 13 years old and all i do right now is surf the internet and do homework, it's pretty boring. I have a very high work ethic so right now it's killing me, i need something to do. I can do lots of graphic design stuff like websites, fliers, banners (even some web comic experience) I can also draw, sing, and just about anything. I hate just lying around and not using my talents so I'd like to have some work, if you have any projects needing to be done on the internet ask me and maybe ill be able to help. I'll accept payment of real money crowns or ce (i don't accept monopoly money sorry) so please think of hiring.
Help, I need work
Have you taken a look at Freelancer.com?
From what I remember (ha!) it's pretty difficult for a 13 year old to make some legit money, but who knows, the Internet's not what it was when I was 13.
For one thing, no one seems to use Netscape Navigator anymore...
every 13 Yr old thinks he can do all the stuff, then they grow up, and die.
Word of advice Awsomeguyone. People that can code/graphic design are a dime a dozen now, even I can do some basic coding for things I use often. It is good for people that need help coding, bad for people that actually want to make money off it.
To a degree coding is an art form, treat it as such and do what an artist does. Every artist has a portfolio of their work, for potential sale of pieces or just as an example of their work. Your age will make most people believe you're inexperienced, they may or may not be right but it is the truth. Create a sample site to show off what you can do. You could be the best coder/graphic designer out there, but without something to physically SHOW what you can do people will just view you as a kid and not put any stock in your word.
It's the whole "pics or it didn't happen" thing.
Best of luck.

I had all the money ready and a free parking space too ;)... to bad
here's some of my work
Banner for a school project i did
Webcomic i did a loooooooong time ago
More recent artwork, still have better though just haven't scanned it"
currently i dont have any sites up to show off becuz there all still on notepad and i haven't got a server yet
This comic simply great. And the surprising thing about it? The guy who makes this is only 12. He's making people over the age of 15 look like noobs. Lol! A comment i got a year ago on another of my comics (i used to do a lot of webcomics)
I agree,That's amazing. Awesomeguy is an Amazing spriter/creator. How are you so good? a reply to previous comment
but that's really all i can dig up right now, that's one reason i need some work i need a bigger portfolio...
but srsly test me
Whoever gives me a job first ill do it for free
ill even do stuff for OOO if they think need some amateur work done
also ill try freelance.com
well...you could sit around and drink coke all day.
You got a few nice complements and you turn into an Egomaniac thinking you can be so "amazing" and can design an amazing site? You're like the first person I've ever seen do this! EVER! (*cough*)
You say you have things on Notepad? Why not use a free PHP site?. There's a few good Free ones out there. You just have to do some searching. (I know quite a few but I don't think it's very productive the way this is going. And I seriously doubt OOO would allow such linking.)
Honestly, good luck trying to find "Work" with such low-site experience.
So lets see here.
You've got a decent banner for a blog, some admittedly mediocre comic strips containing simple figures, and an anime-ish character.
Sorry dude, you're stuff just isn't very good, really. Try again in a couple of years, after you've had some time to properly develop your skills.
While it's admirable that you're eager to get out there and start doing stuff, why not just focus on practicing what you have now? With pretty much all creative ventures, it's easy to think that you're doing well early on, but a couple of years later, when you look back at your work, you'll be thinking, "Wow, I thought this stuff was good?"
Compliments are great and encouraging, but you shouldn't let them go to your head. There's always room for improvement.
This, everyone please take note: You don't draw because anime. You don't sing because Niki Minaj.
Another 13yr old with a big ego =_=
If you want something to do. Go get a deviantart.
that hurts, thanks for crushing my dreams *tear* (two!) =D
It's true there is a lot of room for improvement and the only way to improve is to practice, right now ive ran outta ideas for practicing so im asking u guys for help
is that such a bad thing to ask?
Drop the anime. A lot of people are drawing like you in deviantart. How are you going to make yourself stand out?
Don't take stylistic sides. Instead, observe everything in your daily life. Break down everything. Take it slow and figure it out. Also, look at the reasons why some artists have the sketchy circle thingy, and why some just skip the crap and draw direct.
More importantly, find your flow, but never get comfortable. It's totally okay to like your work now, but if there are any ideas that makes it better, do it.
There will be times you don't feel like drawing. That's where you will have to find the line between passion and commitment.
Also, read more comics. Explore. See where other people at.
Sorry if I offended you, I don't know why but I seem to have something against weaboos. But like Sirenblue said, there's always room for improvement. Don't follow what others do and try to find your own style.
it's okay i don't get offended easily =D
and yeah i agree i do need to improve that's why im asking for a job
also how you get a awesome avatar?
draw what you love and keep at it. (spoiler, it'll probably go nowhere, so do it because you enjoy it).
"It's true there is a lot of room for improvement and the only way to improve is to practice, right now ive ran outta ideas for practicing so im asking u guys for help"
you cannot be serious? There is simply no way to run out of ways to improve as an artist. Try a different medium, play with different lighting, just keep drawing the same things you always draw, etc.... every picture you draw is "practice" and should marginally lead to improvement.
Seriously, as an artist, particularly a character artist, i can't believe you tried to claim you ran out of ways to practice.
As for the other stuff, i'm sure there are books upon books about programming to teach you more.
currently readin an html book and yes i keep drawin, i phrased my previous comment wrong: i need to exercise my skills and so im askin u guys for help on that
and i know your just gonna say deviantart but my parents wont let me get one *blush*
Was trying really hard to ignore this thread in General Discussions. (no reason exactly, just expected another thread full of trolling.)
Anyway you might as well get a Deviantart account, and I don't see why your parents wont let you. Could you at least explain a bit, because I find it a bit hard to believe that they won't let you if you are this willing to work on art and such, especially if you have uploaded stuff before to other sites.
But yeah, find other ways to practice. Trying to think of how to phrase this... Right, if you're doing well enough on a certain kind of art, such as character art, perhaps switch to another to work on. For example, If you're doing pretty good at drawing cartoon/anime people, then maybe switch over to a more realistic model, such as birds or something. (Thats what I did, also worked on a bit of shading.)
Just a post :P
(i think it has somethin to do with the deviant part) lol =P
Try SheezyArt, then ... it's a smaller community and shouldn't sound as bad to your parents.
As for advice for improvement; much of what I could say has already been said, but the most important thing is to base your knowledge on life drawing. Try to make things look realistic by drawing what you observe, first, and develop yourself stylistically as you go. There are millions of wonderful photo references out there; use real people when creating poses, rather than anime characters, as those characters already have seen stylistic changes to their anatomy, and you'll never learn the right way to proportion things. It's alright if your pictures don't use realistic proportions, but make sure that it's because you felt it looked better that way and made a conscious style choice rather than because you didn't know any better.
Photos are also a great way to see different ways that light and shadow fall, how different materials fold and wrinkle, or how you can determine different levels of opacity via color saturation.
If you do happen to join SheezyArt, look me up (same name as here). I'm not on that site particularly often, but I'll be happy to offer constructive critiques.
I agree with getting into an art community. I am 20 years old and well connected with many wonderful artists now who all aspire for different fields of artistic expression. I am aiming for a major in Art with a focus in animation myself and the best thing you can do for yourself is surround yourself with other aspiring artists. And for practice, you have an entire world around you to inspire you. You live in a world of media and visual expression. And much of it is made from two things 1: The world around you and 2: What comes out of your own imagination. Learn to first master the world around you and then learn to master your own style. So like Tevokkia said, draw realism. Its hard. Its a pain. It pays off in the end. If you find a way to join deviantART just refer to http://trydeth.deviantart.com/ to find me. There is also Whirled and Tumblr, which, if you look in the right places, you can find a handful of artists who not only have talent, but also aspirations that can keep you from losing touch with creativity. Sorry if this lacks sense. I am typing this at 1 AM. xD
at 13 years old i was playing street hockey and playing sonic adventure 2 not making decent banners and looking for work.
god i'm lazy
i really try not to do anime and as i said i have lot's of un-anime stuff on paper that i haven't posted yet, plus this isn't all about my drawing skills and how i need to improve this is me tryin to get work. any takers?
As a commissioner who pays people to do artwork for me, I'd say you need to work on your technique a bit more before I consider commissioning artists like you. Anyways come back in a few years of practice. I'll take a look then.
Give some examples or you're never gonna get any interest.
Personally, I find it hard to believe that a 13 yr old knows how to design a decent website. Go ahead, prove me wrong.
