Can we get some simple, easy-accessible way to check current level's name? Best would be somewhere on hud.

Thats exactly the reverse of easily-accessible. I would consider it easily accessible if there was a key to summon the gate map and have it have the current level name somewhere on it without having to hover on.
Also, since i mentioned already it would be awesome to be able to bind the gate map to a key (say, by default M).

I did a quick search for "Gate Map" and found this thread.
I agree, a quick key to access the Gate Map would be very helpful.
Main menu -> Gate Map. Hover over the square icon with a red circle in it (denoting your current level).
